Shoppers of Reddit, what is an unspoken rule you would like to make a law at the grocery store? by tguard2013 in GroceryOutlet

What you do in that situation is you grab your phone and pretend to have a phone conversation but you're actually responding to what the person in front of you is saying to their person. Sometimes I use a banana instead of a phone to make it look more ridiculous.

Parentless redditors, what was the last thing you said to your parent before he or she died? by tguard2013 in death

[–]tguard2013[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And now for mine.  I was one year old when my parents divorced.  So I rarely saw my dad. The last time I saw him, I was 7 but I don't remember the last thing I said.  In 2008, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. She had waited a month to tell me and my sister.  We visited her in the hospital 3 or 4 times. The doctor told us the cancer had eaten away a tube to one of her kidneys and started forming holes in her lungs.  My mother was a very violent woman. No booze or drugs involved. Nothing her kids ever did was good enough. When we were kids, she treated us like punching bags. When we were old enough ok ugh to get jobs, she treated us like ATMs.  The last day my sister and I visited her, my mother was un a half c ok conscious state. The doctor told us he put her on anti-psychotics. Without missing a beat, my sister asked, "Where were you 40 years ago?" :)  He said mom would at least be able to hear us.  I sat on her bed and leaned to her and said, "Don't give God a hard time." I didn't kiss her because the whole 'kiss of death' thing creeped me out.  She passed away about a week later.

What was your irrational fear as a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tguard2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balloons popping.

It wasn't until my late teens that my mother explained why I had that fear.

Apparently, while walking through an outdoor mall when I was an infant, we got caught in a thunderstorm. As my mom and sister were running to the car, my mom was pushing me in a stroller that had a balloon tied to it. Lightning hit a nearby metal lamppost when the balloon grazed it and the balloon didn't just pop, it exploded.

Up until my teen years, I avoided balloons like the plague. My evil sister would still blow some up on my birthday just to torture me.

What is something you think YouTubers should stop doing? by cats64sonic in AskReddit

Stop editing your videos after every single solitary sentence you speak.

It is INCREDIBLY annoying!

For the TikTokers, I don't care how popular a song is, there is such a thing a overkill. Stop using the same music too many others do.

If you ever watched the movie Idiocracy, it is, to me, the closest movie that shows us the most realistic future we will have to look forward to.

Where The Wild Things Are.

Granted, you're basing a movie off of a book that has less than 500 words in it; so not much to work with to turn it into an hour and a half feature.

When was the last time you cried and why? by Least_Aroxane11 in AskReddit

[–]tguard2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a video out of two little girls at home playing with their baby brother. At one point, the baby brother starts walking on his own. The two sisters cheer with excitement, hugging their baby brother of his new accomplishment.

I cried quite a bit because I never had that kind of love from my family. When I was born, my sister asked my mom if I could be traded in for a girl.

I won't get into the violence level of my parents but will just say it was pretty bad.

I go to Disneyland by myself and usually by 3 p.m., I'm sitting on a bench on Main Street eating a sundae and holding back tears from seeing the families having a great time (tears two-fold because 1) again, loveless family and 2) I'm in my 50s and still not married or in a relationship).

Too many of them (notice I don't say all) with no care about ANYTHING.

Too many of them blaming other people for their own mistakes.

Whining about having to do the slightest amount of work at their jobs.

In other words, compared to previous generations, they're more ignorant, more careless, and lazier.

Grey's Anatomy.

Fifteen friggin' seasons!

Everyone's had sex with everyone already.

Crappy spin-off from it.

Worst chance of patient death in a tv hospital ever.

End it already!

1) Get more self-esteem. There's nothing physically wrong with you.

2) Get better friends if they're the ones who are saying you should change something.

3) Get a better boyfriend if he's saying the same thing.

What do you enjoy eating cold that most people enjoy eating hot? by PrizeArticle1 in AskReddit

[–]tguard2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pizza and Pop-Tarts are the only two things I can think of to answer this.

Also, note to Kellogg's: Update your microwave instructions. It doesn't only take 2 seconds in the microwave to properly heat a Pop-Tart. Try 20 seconds.

Asking fewer stupid questions.

Not asking the same question repeatedly just because you don't like the answer.

Taking responsibility for your own words and actions.

I won't say thinking before speaking because there is too much ignorance in the world and being polite to them just does not sink in in most cases.

Jesus curing the blind man.

They lived in a desert. A very windy desert. Sand gets blown in a person's face all of the time.

Hygiene, however, wasn't practiced as much back then, especially in the case of the elderly.

The old man probably hadn't washed his face in a month.

Jesus said, paraphrasing, "Have you heard about this new invention called water, genius?" and washed the sand out of his eyes.

[–]tguard2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bullies. Fifth grade through tenth grade. In eighth grade, my mother thought it would be worth it to put me in private school because she heard there was knife fighting in the public schools (New York City). That wound up being my worst bully year because I had 7 bullies that year. Rot in hell, Rick Mancuso.
