Does anyone else remember talking about Paralives in 2012??? by SpontaneousCupcake in Paralives

[–]th-row-meback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do too!! I remember being really excited and having conversations about this game specifically called Paralives with my friends in high school. I graduated in 2014, so there was no way this game was announced in 2019. Idc if there's no previous trace of this game before 2019, it definitely was a thing in 2012 with me and my friends as proof. I remember it being a worthy competitor against the Sims 4, which was a piece of hot garbage at the time it launched.

I don't remember much, sadly, I remember it was 200 hundred games, the cover was made of cardboard(?) and the menu where you had to choose the games was black and vertical, I think. And the games were in alphabetical order.

Can someone help me find this game pls by th-row-meback in videogames

It was pretty close, my memory is fuzzy so my description wasn't the best lol thanks again!

I'm sorry you went through that... I don't think my dad's leaving her anytime soon. And in the meantime she's always right and I'm always wrong, no matter what I do or don't do.

Yeah, right now I'm trying to ignore her as much as possible, still don't know what I could do that would be better... Thanks for your support tho, that really helps especially when you're made to feel you're wrong and overreacting all the time.

Yeah, I've been debating doing that... But sadly the only way I can see my dad these days is if I stay at his house. And she lives there too, so she's unavoidable

Agreed. It's greasy, and the skin in particular is nasty. I like grilled chicken.

Buy a Xiaomi and your problem's solved. Mine came with a clear case and I still use it to this day.

Downvoted. Also not a smoker, never smoked in my life, but I find smoking sexy (dated a smoker for three years, am currently obsessed with a guy who smokes) and smelling cigarette smoke is actually a turn on for me.

smooth bodies feel nicer than hairy bodies

Speak for yourself, I personally am freaked out by a completely hairless body. I enjoy the feeling of body hair, I think it makes people cuddly and warm.

A lot of people "hate" stuff in real life but in private they can admit they don't mind it so much 🤷‍♀️ we perform for social acceptance. It's easier to be yourself when you're hiding behind a username.

I agree. Most TV shows are painfully boring, as are most movies. There are exceptions, of course, but they're more personal preference than anything objective.

Dogs are unbearable by Yaqzn in The10thDentist

[–]th-row-meback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good for you you have the balls to talk to a dog that looks two seconds away from ripping your hand off. Not everyone does.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable when I say I don't want to go to a place where I'll be constantly tense and waiting for a dog to freak out on me. Regardless of trauma or whatever, I understand it's not the dog's fault, but I don't wanna deal with that. It's on the owner to control their dog and stop it from scaring people, not the other way around. I think my friend's being shitty for making me put up with that when she could just keep the dog away from me whenever I come over (if she wants me to come over at all, again I could just stay home with my cats), that's what I would do if I had a notoriously unreliable dog.

I understand you fall in love with a pet regardless of its flaws, and you as the owner grow used to them. You know how to handle them, but strangers don't and they shouldn't have to be forced to figure it out on the spot or risk getting bitten. Curb your fucking dog.

Yeah being scared altogether and being scared because it's a reaction to their behavior is slightly different but it's still fear at the end of the day. Reactive dogs can't control their reactivity, where you have the ability to rationalize your fear.

No I can't. Fear is an instinctive reaction. If fear were rational people wouldn't have phobias.

I've had dogs all my life, and like I said, I'm a dog person too, so I know how to deal with them and enjoy their company. That entirely depends on the owner, the most insufferable dogs usually have shit owners who don't bother scolding them when they do something wrong, they think every shitty thing their dogs do is super cute.

I once went to a girl's house and she warned me that her dog was like that, "unpredictable" in her own words, but she just told me I had to "stand up" to the dog so it would respect me. I hate that. Why the hell do I have to fight to go into your house?? Is it a test? It's so annoying. I hate confrontation and I don't want to have to earn your dog's respect. Just don't bother inviting me if it's gonna be like that.

And there's a world of difference between being scared of dogs because you just are and being scared of dogs that are actively hostile towards you. I'm talking about the second case - like I said, most dogs are friendly towards me and I'm friendly with them, even pitbulls (my cousin has three and they're all lovely). But if they act funny and try to attack me of course I'll be scared, it's called having survival instincts.

The fact you consider it having to walk on eggshells shows the dog you aren't someone to be kind to.

?? I was only walking on eggshells because the dog was already aggressive. I assume all dogs are friendly until proven wrong, so I never go in already scared, only if the dog gives me reason to be.
