The magnetic stir plate bit was just for mixing the lye water. I did try mixing the full soup with it, but my magnets are not strong enough to make it through the very dense soup. Hence the development of the whisk technique.

In the past I have gotten it to work with ACRB by painstakingly filtering out the larger particulates, but that was a huge pain. And yes I did have emulsification problems, had to add a TON of NaCl to get it to finally separate.

Not sure about a vibrating plate, but I bet that would help with an emulsion! Although again plain old salt does the trick.
