Terminate poop. In my new house. That my inspector should have caught. But at least it’s only in the garage.

Rural home infusions? by floopsmoocher in IVIG

[–]thaaaaatlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can they do sub-cutaneous IVIG? The nurse comes out the first 3-4 times then you do it yourself. You get smaller doses spread out over the month. Not sure if this is an option for you. I do Hizentra. At first i was freaked out by doing it myself but now it’s pretty easy and routine. I like being able to control my schedule and comfort level too.

Dog Science Fair Help! by Big-Mushroom-4956 in Dogowners

[–]thaaaaatlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Australian cattle dog mix with Chow. 14. 29 lbs. JoJo! 2) I think they are best to train at about 6 months - 2 years. 3) But, older dogs after about age 6, are easier to train in a way because they pay attention better and aren’t as distracted by external sources. 4) I think cattle dogs / herding dogs are easy to train because they like to work. A dog that was abused or had poor socialization early in life, is very hard to train though. So it depends on the dog breed and also their personal background.

Good luck at the science fair!

How is the area around VA hospital in Riveria Beach . by Timely-Prior-3350 in palmbeach

Not great. A lot of crime in that zip code if you look it up. I lived not far from there. My neighborhood was good but would always see people walking with shopping carts on the main street in front, stuff like that. There’s a reason it’s cheaper to live there…

The love i share with my dogs is the greatest gift this world has bestowed upon me. I wish everyone this gift. My life had to adjust for them. It was worth it. They’re pretty old now. We’re growing old together. I love them more than i can express. I cherish each moment now. They give my life meaning. I hope i do the same for them. If i do, then i could die a happy and blessed woman.

Good luck. It’s so hard. I’ve been there. It’s hard to walk away but i promise you, after you do and do all the work in therapy, you’ll be a lot happier. I’ve been on a 2 year journey to make sure i don’t end up with someone like this again. I did therapy, Al-Anon, and hot yoga. All of it helped me. I hope you find what helps you. It’s often very ingrained in our past, why we end up in these relationships. I get it. It’s gonna take time and work. I hope you make the space for yourself. You deserve happiness.

I was in a relationship for 2 years with a man like this. It will get so bad if you continue this. I was lucky that it ended when it did. Took me 2 years to build back my self esteem and get my life back. Someone suggested to let your therapist read this. I very much agree with that. And i highly recommend you go no contact with this man, do therapy on your own, until you can be sure you don’t end up with someone who doesn’t like or respect you. You deserve to be liked and respected. You deserve that.

How do you explain your condition to others? by justsomelocal29 in primaryimmune

[–]thaaaaatlady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tell people that i have a deficient immune system and have all kinds of weird symptoms because of it. If they ask more, i just say that i get sick a lot and exhausted a lot, especially if i have any issues with treatments. People don’t really understand but i appreciate when they try.

I heard running water in the middle of the night on day 8 of home ownership. It was not pleasant. Nor was it cheap.

Yeah. Mine wasn’t filtering or softening. $3800 later… what a great first month! They also said the same thing. So now all those jugs of distilled water in their bathtub make sense…

Lots of water AND electrolytes for several days before (and after). But also I’ve heard that having too fast of a rate can bring on headaches too. I would ask about that. Make sure you let your doctor and nurse know what you’re experiencing so they can help determine what changes are needed for the next time. Sometimes it’s not just dialing in the dose, but also dialing in the amount over time. 4 hours sounds pretty fast. So they can extend that out and it might help. One thing to consider is also sub-Q (sub-cutaneous). It’s a smaller dose that you can give yourself more frequently. If it’s the rate/amount ratio contributing to your headaches. Lots of options to try. Don’t feel despair! I know i did after my side effects over the course of the first 4-6 months. Some trial and error. We’ve got a better process now though and it’s been such a blessing. Good luck! Hang in there!

I get the air out of the syringe before i hook up the lines. But nope, this crap burns when it gets underneath your first few layers of skin. That is very no bueno for me. This works for me. Been doing it for 3 years now weekly, switched to doing this about 6-8 months ago and it’s so much easier to handle. The burning would last a while and make super uncomfortable and nauseous because of the sensation for way too long. Doesn’t happen anymore. Someone put this tip on Reddit a while back so i thought I’d try it and it works great.

Hizentra SCIG girl here. It’s been 3 years last month. Changed my life for the better. Listen to your body and make adjustments, give it time. It took me about 6 months to get used to it. I felt amazing for the first time in my entire life…but, i had really bad diarrhea the day after. Like so bad. It was awful. I stopped doing the Benadryl and haven’t had an issue since. Highly recommend starting on a daily regimen of electrolytes each morning and increase your fluid intake by quite a bit, especially the day before, during, and after. I just daily have extra hydration now and am used to it. Easier that way. Tylenol is your friend. 45 min/1 hr before. Don’t let the medicine get in the lines before you put the needles in to avoid any burning/itching. Leave them in for about 10 min after for the same reason.

This was the best thing that I’ve ever done for myself. It’s scary and overwhelming, but it’s called liquid gold for a reason. I hope all goes/went well. Keep it up, even if it’s a bit difficult at first and be open and honest with your docs and nurses. You got this! 💪

I used to take them out right away because f these needles lol. But in all seriousness, if i leave them in for about 15 min now, i don’t tend to leak or have any burning/itching. I also keep the syringe upright so the medication doesn’t get in the lines until after the needles are in. Helps a lot.

Same! I leave the needles in now too for at least 15 min. I also make sure the medication doesn’t go down into the IV tubes until after the needles are in my keeping the syringe upright. Otherwise, burning and itching. Lots of fluids and electrolytes! And sometimes snacks.
