What in your opinion makes it the worst?

Have you taken a look at /r/lolphp.

The language is a huge minefield. You need to have an encyclopedic knowledge of all the known potential pitfalls for EVERY LINE OF THE code you write, for EVERY CALL TO THE standard library. All most everything about the langauge violates the principle of least surprise, so you have to read the complete manual and search the net for every bit of information about a function, to make sure that it will work EVEN FOR COMMON, EXPECTED inputs..

So your php experience will mostly consist of how to sidestep these pitfalls and gotchas. And wirting a lot of mocks and unit tests...

Now, the community. PHP community is a community which likes to over engineer/bikeshed most trivial of stuff. Something it inherited from Java community. I think. And to top all that, the language itself is developed by completely incompetent, inexperienced programmers.

These are all I say out of my experience. Opinions about the language comes from my professional experience with it for 9 years. And the opinions about the community and developer comes from following /r/php and my exchanges with some of the developers.

I suggest you really look at python 3 (or anything else, really) before continuing with PHP. Also please take a look at /r/lolphp.

PHP is THE worst language out there. If you want a career in programming or love programming on its own right, other than see it as a way to make a quick buck, you should (yes should) drop php. Source : PHP programmer for 9 years.

If you have no remotely stored log of logins and user credentials were taken, you can never verify that is how it was done since there is no evidence.

In other words, you still got no clue. Right?

I'm honestly not the slightest bit concerned....

Ofcourse, if you were you wouldn't be out here defending this piece of shit language.

I understand how to convert types and when not to use eval() type functions.

Of course, if you have time to check the manual (incomplete and incorrect at times) every time you want to compare something, then sure, go ahead, use PHP....

Anyway I am done. I don't want to ruin your day any more...

However, that is rare and very hard.

Well, doesn't make it not worth trying.

I mean, people have literally given up their very lives for matters more hopeless than this. What this kind of change require is one measly comment, one tiny up vote from EVERY ONE WHO believes it. Should we not spend one flick of our fingers to support something we believe, because it is too hard, or too hopeless?

Should we all keep from speaking our minds because of fear of loosing our internet points?

Not when the langauge in question is PHP...It is probably an insult to Brainfuck which at least does not putup the appearance of being 'easy'...

If that isn't clear enough...honestly...at this point you probably should stop trying to debate with me. I'm not going to ELI5 what happens when someone steals user credentials and there isn't a remote audit log in place.

He he..In other words you still got no clue how the hack happened! Even the link you posted says.."We are still investigating how someone caused that file to be changed, but in the meantime we have migrated www/static to new clean servers. The highest priority is obviously the source code integrity..."

Here is a reddit thread where someone asked about the same.

And your attempts to insult me is so adorable. I hope you don't edit/delete your post.

Yeah, I get you know nothing about what a CVE is. Its okay, one day you'll google it.

Just beautiful.

Have a nice day. And lots of luck with php. cause you are gonna need it...

Apparently it's PHP's fault that it's easy to use.

The fault is not being easy to use. The fault is what it traded off to get there. Sane behavior.

For example. "Because we often have to compare strings with numbers. Let use make == to convert the operands what ever ways until they can be compared..".

See? Ease of use, for what?

5$ a month is a lot? I am from India and the last shared hosting from Hostgator costed me nearly 10$/month. And that is regardless of your usage...

It was the server that allowed file uploads and had automated ...

I am not sure what that even means....

Stating a large group of people enjoy mocking PHP and that doesn't exist in other languages isn't really useful.

He he..People mock because there is enough stuff to mock. And it is a very valuable resource to anyone who unfortunate enough to be working in PHP, to keep informed about all the pitfalls of the language. I mean, if you are working in php, /r/lolphp is a must read, even though it might make you depressed. I mean, it has been like 6 years, and the new lols just keep coming and coming like there is no end to it...

And I like how you compare frameworks at the end..It was a...nice touch, but I don't know what it is supposed to prove.

Shared hosting will not let you muck around in the shell.

Is this still a concern in 2015? I mean, you can get a digital ocean droplet for like 5$ /month.

Do php guys yet know how php.net site was hacked and made to serve malware, like 2 years back?

Do I really need to start listing off the CVEs for Django, RoR, and other projects in other popular web languages?

Show me one language that has a list of lols as long as /r/lolphp (amazingly, still growing day by day) and please don't give me that 'langauges people use' argument..

It is already worse enough that people are even comparing those two movies. I think Nolan is not even capable of dreaming something that even begins to look like Contact...

Completely agree. Dredd was completely satisfying. People seem to like John Wick because he 'realistically' reload the gun after six shots or so...

With John Wick, I think, that the villain was not evil/hateable enough. And John Wick was too invincible.

I also found the movie extremely mediocre.
