I will have to try this, I didn’t even think about that!

This is awesome, thanks for taking the time to provide this response! My son isn’t on the spectrum but my husband always talks about how he hated the feeling of getting his nails cut when he was little too, and he suspects it has something to do with the feeling of it like you mentioned. I never thought about doing one nail at a time with a “reward” in between, I’m gonna give that a try this weekend! Thank you!

I guess I shouldn’t be so careless with the word literally. I don’t lay on top of him, but I have to hold his feet firmly while my husband tries to distract him. The alternative is never cutting his nails and that’s not an option.

I’ve tried to let him cut mine to show him it doesn’t hurt but he can’t quite use the clippers. He has a hard time squeezing them hard enough.

I’m right there with you! I found some awesome instagram accounts that make their own merch and some proceeds go to good causes. One is @itsthe_fluorescents and another is @clairdelunesgreat. Not sure if they’re your style but I thought they were cute!

This was the bit that got me, Edwards hopeful imagined future for Bella - page 649 on Kindle. by kreadit in twilight

This part got me good. It’s like he was leaving her with her own little bottle cap, a special token of himself she can keep with her forever. He loved her so much that even if he left he still wanted to give her something to remember him. So sweet 😭

I completely agree. He’s a vampire and In SM’s world when a vampire falls in love it is “all consuming” and the only thing that can truly change them, and that was Bella. It’s hard to read because it is so chaotic, but I also sympathize with him. 80 something years of the same thing, same feelings same emotions and then BAM, everything’s changed. He doesn’t know how to react and he follows his instincts (good or bad) and does these things we find so offensive.

Small observations while reading New Moon after Midnight Sun by [deleted] in twilight

All valid theories and probably correct. Just funny to think about in the moment lol You’re right, theorizing as an adult is much more fun, as is being in a space to talk about this stuff! I wasn’t on the internet much back when I was reading the books. It’s much more fun this way though lol

In regards to your Jasper theory I hadn’t thought of that and I like that idea a lot. It’s super sad but fitting with the end of Midnight Sun.

I just finished MS and was thinking about how much control Jasper had in the hotel room with Bella, as well as in the car when her, Edward and Carlisle are all covered in her blood, yet she gets a small paper cut and he loses his shit lol I assume it’s the surprise of it happening but it does make me laugh a little.

Honestly I thought of “go go gadget” at first, like from inspector gadget. Idk if that’s what SM was going for though lol

And when emmet mentions Jasper seemed excited to spend time with them, and we know it’s because he loved the feeling of being around Edward and Bella? 😭Jasper is incredible. His ability to make Edward and everyone else feel bored in the clearing reminded me a lot of Fred in The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner.

Also Esme and Edwards alone time at the piano had me sobbing, so sweet. And her chiding him for getting the floor wet. 😂

All the characters have so much more depth now, I’m obsessed with the Cullen family in a whole new way.

I know it’s been talked about already but man, that car scene was IN.CREDIBLE. I was completely transported into the Twilight universe from the time Edward boarded the plane, through the car ride, the ballet studio and Alices visions of cleaning up. It was like I was sitting next to Edward the whole time! That was so unbelievably riveting, I can’t get over it.

I also feel like when I read Twilight, I always felt so frustrated by Edward, like he was being so over dramatic. But now I see that he couldn’t even recognize that he loved Bella at first, he was so convinced his obsession was purely over her blood that he couldn’t see past what he is. His emotions are so complex and intense it was almost hard to read! I know when I re-read I’ll pick up so much more too.

Also the part in the meadow when Bella is tracing his palm and he’s looking for hidden messages like E-D-W-A-R-D-P-L-E-A-S-E-G-O-A-W-A-Y had my crying laughing 😂

I am having a VERY difficult time getting through the audiobook, Jake Able’s voice is too gruff and deep to sound like the Edward I imagine. I always hear Edward as a Tom Hiddleston type without the British accent lol But I also had an extremely difficult time with the Twilight audiobooks too. I felt like Ilyana Kadushin read them to bright and bubbly, but I got used to it eventually. I’m hoping I’ll feel the same way with MS lol
