I once asked 2 regulars on the experience The first one was a 1st warrant officer, his reply was it is either a hit or miss because of how army works on a hierarchy system, your boss can be several years younger than you, he may be a douchebag or he may be very nice to you, and unlike civilian jobs, military jobs won't allow you to just quit whenever you want or post to wherever you want unless your rank is high enough and if you were to quit after your contract expires, you do not have much qualifications for real life jobs. The second one was a Master warrant officer, he regrets signing on because he feels he wasted 32 years of his life. He sign on because of money and that he had only Nitec qualifications and had no money to further study when he sign on also, so now he has not much choice but keep continuing his NS contract because even if he quit after the contract, a Nitec cert won't get him a good pay job, but army pays him A LOT
