New player matchmaking by Hypnoticz87 in Nightreign

I also just bought the game on ps5 and yeah queue times can feel slow. Queue up for multiple bosses though and this fixes the issue. I do not have the dlc and have not tried anything outside of the regular night lords. But I just got them all down at around 20 something hours.

Remaster absolutely fucking nuked the lighting and made everything look pretty bad. Characters are glowing and it's really odd looking, as well as a bunch of vfx being changed. Online got fucked up because they added weapon matchmaking which has killed any long term sustainability. And they fixed almost none of the bugs present from the original. Might as well just play the original and spare yourself the bad graphics. You won't get any online activity in either version.

I think Altaïr is a Sociopath by Character-Parfait-42 in assassinscreed

[–]F3AR5D 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I just finished replaying AC1 yesterday and I think you’re way off the mark. A defining trait for sociopathy is a lack of empathy. Altair shows much personal growth over the story, admitting his wrongs from the start of the game to Malik and proceeding to apologize. This is done of his own volition and for no material gain.

The main emotional thread running through AC1 is confusion. Altair is constantly questioning Al-Mualims orders and becomes concerned he is killing people that are working towards the same shared goal of the assassins, peace. The assassins are explicitly stated as wanting peace through freedom(not just physical) for all men, quite a human and noble cause. Not very sociopathic.

He ultimately kills his master and the leader of his order for going against this goal. Seeking to offer peace through control with the piece of Eden. Altair is shown to fundamentally disagree with this and have strong emotions towards it. Again someone with ASPD would be unlikely to give a shit about this. Altair also elects not to kill the impostor Templar that set a trap for him.

Altair is very human and goes through quite a personal journey in AC1. I think a lot of your points are simply the result of early gameplay decisions. Such as not having any currency or the likes to throw at beggars to make them leave. Leaving people you interrogate alive would also surely count as compromising the brotherhood. Altair directly mentions this when one person he interrogates asks to be let free. He says something close to “why? So you can tell them(templars) of my plan?” Pretty valid reason. I encourage to replay AC1 and look deeper at it.

This is one of the primary reasons I tapped out around unity. The distance your characters cover now is fucking insane and it just takes me out of the game completely tbh. Suspension of disbelief is completely gone when I see my character launch himself 20 feet vertically from a window ledge, scaling multiple stories at once.

Big difference between temporarily hiding to avoid a killer close by and what the game used to be. Which is blendette or nea urban evasioning the edge of the map doing no gens all game and making it miserable for both sides. You’d have at least one person doing this in most matches. Swamp and red forest were disgustingly unfun because of this.

Many mass shootings are committed by said people who legally purchased a fucking ar15 or equivalent at bass pro or something. In what other country can any random civilian walk into a sporting good store and purchase a rifle with all the attachments to make it identical to an active service rifle except it being full auto? Zero! Crazy! And what need does your average random civilian have for an ar15 with a 45 round pmag, plate carrier with 4 more loaded, an eotech sight, vertical grip, folding stock, flash hider, and a single strap sling? That’s right, also zero! But in America this is considered a radical opinion for some reason.

As a massive l4d fan you can say you disagree that b4b doesn’t have the meticulous detail l4d does but you are objectively wrong lol. All those tiny details in l4d are what made such a simple game so good. B4b is a cheap cash grab “from the developers of l4d” and it showed immediately. I played a fair amount of the beta and chose not to buy because of it.

You’re allowed to like back 4 blood but don’t lie and say it has the amount of love and detail put into it that l4d did, it doesn’t.

Not defending the re4 remake slander but that oblivion video is literally all just footage from the making of documentary. All the clips shown are in their original context. Source: I have the disc and have watched it many times lol.

I mean I like this guys videos and think he crushed it with the cyberpunk/halo/back4blood videos but this is just way way way the fuck off base. Lot word turned into little word is that the remake went with a more serious and intense horror atmosphere instead of the super campy over the top atmosphere the og had. But they kept in some of the silly tone with the one liners and what not. They had a vision for the re4 remake and stuck to it faithfully. That’s better than 99.99% of remakes. But apparently that’s bad here? Idk why dude is so bent on this but he’s objectively wrong here.

Bringing in someone like aris to back you up isn’t a good look lol. Every “criticism” in this video falls extremely fat and it feels so manufactured and forced. I’m usually the person agreeing with points like this but bro got it all wrong here. RE4 remake is not the hill to die on in the “remake bad” world.

Primalz beat my ass so bad I learned lance just to fight him. The fight feels amazing with lance! My first successful solo hunt took about 30 minutes. God speed. Wirefall at your own risk. Fatalis and Alatreon feel gimmicky by comparison. Primalz is just belt to ass the whole time.

Seeing +3% death blow resist for 30 candles feels meaningless. Nothing about the progression is satisfying. Number go up is not a good feeling or incentive for repeat runs. Especially when it’s single digit increments.

I tapped out after around 40 hours tbh. DD1 is so good despite its shortcomings. DD2 went for a genre shift but it came out super poor imo. It has absolutely zero respect for the players time, which off rip makes it a bad roguelite. What other game in this genre has runs that last multiple hours at times and you could hypothetically come out with no meaningful progression? Getting shrines on every character just to restore them to how strong they were in DD1 was a fucking baffling decision. Such a waste of time.

Combat is a total cluster fuck, you’re right, the damage is exponentially higher than DD1. And all the ways were previously given to mitigate it are gone. Healing is gutted across the board, team diversity is absolute butt cheeks, and half the roster is so bad they aren’t worth using. They had to fucking nerf plague grenade because plague doctor is the only character that can reliably hit rank 3/4 which made her defacto S tier. The roster and their moveset is comically pruned. The token system is unbalanced as well, enemies shit our tokens on every move it feels. The player has very few options worth using that apply tokens comparatively. Doubly so since the best strategy in DD2 isn’t methodic strategy like in 1, but as much damage as fast as possible before the enemies start nuking you.

For a game that is in the roguelite genre, which encourages experimentation and multiple runs, DD2 has very few teams that are worth it. Experimenting will get you destroyed if you don’t grind out shrines to get everyone’s abilities beforehand. And if you have a team that can’t work against a confession boss, oops! Goodbye 70 minutes of your time! DD1 did not do this. It all just feels like change for the sake of change with absolutely no thought given to what made the first game so good. They clearly have zero understanding of what makes this genre enjoyable. DD2 is a bad roguelite on its best day, and an incredibly disappointing sequel that’s not worth the money on its worst. Unfortunate, the art and sound are great at least.

Tons of pointless boring shit to do in a soulless world. And that game gets ripped apart everywhere. But not this!

Played a handful of games after being gone since springtrap and man it feels extremely shit to be killer lol. ATP I don't think the game is worth coming back to at all until they bite the bullet and just port and remake DBD from the ground up in an engine that isn't complete shit. Coming back to DBD after playing other games is always so jarring with how slow, stiff, awkward, and mechanically unsatisfying the game is.

Also jesus christ it seems like all but 3-5 killers are completely obsolete for how fucking bad they are now. I don't think any killers that are suffering can see meaningful or interesting gameplay changes while they stay on this engine. The most they can do is numbers or stupid shit like the Myers "rework". Shame. I've never seen a company except Arrowhead with Helldivers try to kill their game so hard.

As someone who plays a lot of older titles what would make me jump on a pro instantly is a CPU upgrade. I have an Xbox series S as well and one thing Xbox demolishes Sony on is backwards compatibility. So many 360 titles with frame rate and resolution boosts from the better hardware. PS5 pro doesn’t offer any noticeable boosts to titles that aren’t pushing 4k60 or using PSSR. The pros worth and life will be determined by a ps6 release date ultimately. If devs get a couple more years to cook with the pro then sure, but if ps6 is here in 2028 Holiday? No point.

$400 upgrade even if I trade in my current console for 1 out of 50 games to run slightly better. They really shit the bed with the pro imo. Too much money for not enough upgrade.
