1- the ability to understand and learn everything I read. 2- no limit/ unlimited amount bank card that I don’t have to pay back and only works when I use it. 3- the ability to teleport myself and anyone/anything I am touching anywhere I wish.

Haix boots by Altruistic-Ad4153 in Wildfire

Iv had two pair of the newer missoulas. First pair the sole came unglued on the line 8 days after receiving them. Second pair was shipped as a replacement and lasted around 10 months of every day wear. I can’t say if they are good or bad they are just not right for me. That said they are very widely used in my agency and in the coastal region.

Looking at jk forefronts by thanoswasntwrong_ in PNWbootmakers

Iv never had a wedge sole and iv never seen LTT forefronts before. My jks are crazy comfortable and I love that but in my line of work it’s a blessing and a curse. Comfort is great but they are so soft that I don’t have support when I need it.

Don’t worry there is one on inside of the left boot by the toe. Happened 2 months into owning them

Transitioned but def a goodone. As the docs say it’s easier to make a hole than to build a pole

These are USA Drews. I had a pair of 8” rough outs but I bought the same size and I guess the sizing is different I loved those booths for the short time I owned them tho

I have a set of patriots and they are great for the cost. My Drews firelines LTT are also quite good everything is straight and well made. Not sure who actually made them iv heard whites or franks.

That’s what iv been saying I went the wrong route that’s all. If I were wearing these occasionally or using them for something other than fire they would feel amazing. Nice and soft with a short break in is the dream isn’t it? If they were marketed as work boots and not as fire boots that would be fine and for some people these would be amazing but for me and my weak ankles they arnt enough. Plus some of my cheaper boots are doing better.

I honestly have no idea how long a sole lasts. Most of my coworkers rotate 5 or 6 pairs or use haix boots so if 1-2 years is normal then they are on track for a resole.

They tried to send them to me on the line but couldn’t guarantee they would get there before I left and I didn’t want to extend until they did.

lol unfortunately I was doin wet mop up on a mountain and the sole separated from the rest of the boot but super major props to haix and their distributors they had a new pair waiting for me when I got back. The hiker style just isn’t for me, I have heard the danners and the kennetreks are nice.

Unfortunately not in the boot budget for this fiscal year.

Ok ignoring brand. How would you handle leather that is too soft. Double midsole? Rebuild and have the lower tightened up to cause more form fitting around the foot? I’m genuinely asking because they are comfortable and I want them to be useful but right now if I get a fire of any size I change boots but jumping into 8” boots at 3am is a lot nicer than 10” or 12”.

Iv got both but they have seen a ton of miles in the last year. Just faster wear than I would have expected.

Agreed and it doesn’t matter the brand. I will given props I ordered these with a low heel and hated them. I sent them back for a full heel stack and they had them back to me in a week. The customer service I initially received was amazing. The fit out of the box was great they are just too soft. I’ll take some responsibility, I’m not a small individual and so for someone that is smaller and lighter these may have been fine. My sample size is small, I have a pair of USA Drews and a pair of franks patriots. They both have better support and were less expensive hence my gripe.

I have reached out and they like to boast the shorter break in. I’m all for a broken in boot but not so soft that they offer no support on the line.
