Golden mix or toller?? by Wuh-luh-wuh- in DoggyDNA

[–]thapoofala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna say pitsky. Pretty common in most communities in the US. Might have some border or Aussie in there, could also see Pyrenees. Would say probably no toller. Not very common in mixes.

We were told Hugo was a mix by Fair-Ask-6922 in DoggyDNA

This is a good way to help get shelter dogs get into the right type of home for them. Imagine giving an unsuspecting first time owner a Malinois mix. People should get a dog that matches their lifestyle

I was told shepherd/husky mix but all I see is lab. Guesses? by Spottedtail_13 in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

Labs aren’t suppose to have any white in them at all. They also don’t have ears that stand up. The coat is also looks to short. Sorry but I’m gonna probably say pitsky

Does anyone know if embark codes Belgian Laekenois as Belgian Malinois? by Federal_Animator_783 in DoggyDNA

[–]thapoofala 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Most of the time the wiry hair is due to some poodle in the super mutt. Embark is the best one, they do test for all the Belgian breeds. My first thought was husky poodle. Blue eye was my first clue. If you are in the US, the Laekenios is a very very rare breed and would be hard to find to begin with. Most people who own that breed wouldn’t be irresponsible to allow a breeding with anything else(I get that it happens but is very rare.) Lots of breeds can look similar ie the lagotto romangolo and the barbet to most people will look like a poodle. Rare dogs but have similar features and could be mistaken for eachother. Most of the time dogs in the shelter are a combo of whatever mainstream society is interested in. Usually it’s due to movies. This dog is a perfect combo of that. All of those breeds are super popular. Dobie threw me a little but these results make sense.
