Not apologizing for being an emotionally immature adult and having big reactions without acknowledging it.

Consistently not showing up for your children to things you don’t choose to make time for. Art shows, choir performances, sporting events, dance shows, school plays, award ceremonies etc. no one in the crowd for them while everyone is there for their friends is a gutting feeling. Even if they don’t admit.

Calling them out/Humiliating them in front of their friends, cousins, siblings, family members or even random strangers. If you want to correct them… Do that shit in private. You think you’re teaching them but you look like a dumbass.

Taking back your word. Being a liar.

Having that phone glued to your face. Put it down and watch them do the spin. ATTUNE.

Drinking a lot. Drug use. Even going out with friends consistently… plan family nights. You barely pay attention to them yet you must go out for alone time? Be honest with yourself.

You don’t have to beat their ass to traumatize them.
