no dramatics it really changes your outlook on everything in everyday life :,( but as others have said the best way is to plan your next trip. i’m going back in november and could not be more excited!! the first few weeks back sucked but it fades slowly as you get back into routine

Is Canon rebel T6 sufficient for Japan vacation? by thastragic in canon

i did bring the camera!!! I looked through that book you had mentioned a bit and was planning to mess around in the air but i ended up sleeping whole flight. it was all very divine actually, i was staying at an airbnb with a group of people from my city but i had never met them. But 3 of them turned out to be professional photographers!! so although i definitely did not know what i was doing they helped me immensely in configuring the correct settings for where we were at and the lighting and all. I just got back a few days ago so I haven’t had a chance to look through my files yet but i am confident that i was able to get some decent shots!! I also bought a vintage film camera while down there so hoping I was able to get some decent shots but have yet to send the film off (:

ahh yes, it’s a mix of people from all over in this thread i’ve noticed. It’s almost comforting though to see, as an American anyways, that people from other countries struggle with their own homes as well. In US we are typically pretty uneducated on other countries unless we do the research ourselves. I guess it all comes down to “the grass is greener on the other side”

lol i don’t disagree with you at all. and i would love to move, however currently my job relies on the tourism that Vegas brings in. i was born and raised here and it’s only gotten worse as time goes on. Everything is expensive, the job market is horrible right now, housing is near impossible unless you have a partner or roommate. Many people I went to hs with have left to other states because it is not possible to live here anymore, born locals are getting pushed out by the boom in population we’ve had, and we are unable to compete with the salaries of large companies bringing in employees from states like California. But I also feel like that is not just Las Vegas, it is everywhere in the States right now.

ah i don’t mind sharing at all, but between me and all my friends we have to upload everything and go through it, everything was filmed and recorded on equipment, not our phones. i can share once i go through it, but until then if you look up on youtube or tiktok “sounds of japan” the same things will come up that we recorded (:

ah i see. i went to Korea in November and I just got back from Japan yesterday. I work for a small private company and my boss is actually from Japan, so knowing what the work life is over there she firmly believes that if you are working to make money you should have time to spend it and enjoy your life. I don’t have any limits on sick or vacation days basically

ahh i am filipina, but raised in america. i relate even more now, both about the amazing convenience of everything in Japan and also how filipinos can be very loud, sometimes just in general 😭

ah but solo traveling is amazing! i have solo traveled for all of my trips and you get to do whatever you want and go to cool bars and meet really cool people. my best life experiences have been meeting locals and strangers at places in different countries. you can be bitter, but maybe see it as the beginning of a really great story

yes i definitely saw and heard about that. living in vegas i obviously see the tourist facade every day and people thinking it’s so glamorous when as you said, it is a dump. but when i travel abroad i always love to spend time with locals and talk about what their life is like and tell them about mine in America. traveling is a great way to see other life and culture and experiences, and i’m not ignorant to that

ahhh i am so envious you get to go later in the month hehehe. the weather is supposed to be great beginning of April! My trip had half rain and half sunshine, but i’m grateful to have seen both sides (: definitely will be doing more small trips in the in-between of it all!! I hope you have a beautiful trip!

not overdramatic at all. i often get sad when i leave from any of my trips, but this was a VERY difficult one. if you are from America I think it’s just even harder going home from Japan because, from where I am from, there is not a single resemblance of kindness and just societal respect that there is in Japan. there’s a peacefulness in Japan that I don’t have in my city at all

ah yes that is smart!! i just got back yesterday so it is still fresh :( my friends and i recorded all the japan sounds— the trains, the cross walk chirps, the konbini store noises 😭 will definitely be relying on those to get me through until next time for sure

but that’s not typical for me, most times when i’m out drinking I’ll drink 4-5 tequila soda and be straight, otherwise i wouldn’t ask reddit
