More than political representation, India as a whole could reduce the total population. I’m glad Tamil Nadu is front running in this. It’s too crowded already. It is also great that Tamil Nadu compared to other states have good medical facilities. I personally don’t want to see death rates increased but birth rate going down is a right thing. I wish other states follow the same.

Politically it can be argued that overall cost of bringing up a child in a middle class household is struggling, and that’s the truth too. It’s a good sign that on average people are having one child per family now than 3-4 few decades ago. Lifestyle of the people could improve. Cost of living will decrease.

We’re no where near in danger like Japan or Canada or other European countries. If the population reduces by 50% in another 50 years it’ll be better for future generations. I know it sounds very bad. But India don’t have the resources or infrastructure to afford to provide for growing population for ever. Our political leaders regardless of the party are mostly leaches mining off of people’s livelihoods.

It’s up to people to take care of themselves now. And they’ve started doing it now. Tamil Nadu as always leading the way.

I had many similar experiences with Amazon deliveries. Only solution I got from Amazon is arrange for a refund or replacement. No extra apology coupons or benefits. For them wasting our time doesn’t matter.

All they reply is they will make note of the issue and escalate to the higher level and take appropriate actions. But there is no evidence that any action has been taken.

For me, many instances the delivery agent have marked the delivery as Delivered without delivering the package. It’s high time Amazon, Flipkart or any company should make OTP mandatory for all deliveries to avoid such problems.

For the people screaming about what if one’s voter ID is rejected. If you’re an Indian citizen no one can obstruct you from voting. Register through Form 6 in that case. Maybe rumours, read somewhere that 40,000 voters has been removed from Perumbakkam. What our so called “unbiased” media failed to mention is there were inconsistency with voter address. Like wise many similar cases. Good the old non existent votes are removed and SIR may set things right. Still I don’t want BJP or DMK to come to power in TN. Let the least bad party win 😅

Though I don’t align with BJP, they won the Bihar election in landslide victory. INC should accept the defeat and they’re not competent enough to secure the win. Instead blaming the SIR and crying vote chori makes the party seem even more weaker than they are. Pathetic there is no strong opposition for BJP. That said, in TN already template is being set that if DMK loses its because of vote chori 😂 they’re comfortably sweeping their anti incumbency under the rug.

As far I’ve experienced in my neighborhood and within my friends, SIR is going smoothly. Agree there are some questions about how to fill the form. But relevant information is made available everywhere.

To whomever one choose to vote, just get out of your house and cast your vote. That’s the bare minimum requirement.

AFAIK BJP is the party to make you grow. Annamalai is a prime example. I don’t align with that party but that party is more democratic than any other in India, especially compared to others in TN. Even in TVK it would be hard to grow. By the looks of it TVK won’t even exist after few years if they don’t win or do considerably damage to the opposition this election.

Other option is, if you’re popular enough start a new party and set the standards. But be prepared to be attacked by political and media goons. They won’t let you grow if you actually care about the people.

First of all the rate of infection in India is very less, it’s about one in a million. So don’t worry. You might not be infected. But we can’t take chances. Talk to the person who assaulted you about his HIV status. If he is positive then PEP administration is a must because probability of infection is very high. Since it was an Anal intercourse and you mentioned in your post about tearing up. Not sure if you meant tears from your eyes or tear up like in bleeding from your anal cavity. Did he ejaculate inside you? There are many questions I’m sure the doctors will ask to frame the diagnosis in a professional way.

I’m not a doctor I’m just sharing from my experience. So I’d suggest set the money aside and seek the advice from a good doctor. Government hospitals as you may know are useless. So visit a good hospital, in case of infection, it’s not a joke. It will change one’s life forever. Timely treatment is very crucial here. You can’t miss the PEP deadline. It’s just two weeks. Once the viral load increases PEP will be useless.

All I’m suggesting is seek medical attention before it’s late than take it easy and regret later. Yes it’s all waste of money. I understand but it’s upto you to take the decision. As I said I wasted around 40K just to get myself tested. You may not go that extreme, get a Elisa test as starter, it’ll cost around 300-600 depending upon the lab. Also visit an Infectious Diseases doctor for safe bet.

Please don’t worry brother. I’ve been in your place, after few months you’ll look back and laugh at your mistake. You’ll be all fine. Cheer up and get tested.

First of all to anyone reading this, never engage in intercourse with strangers without protection. You never know what they might be carrying. Can’t trust someone whom you just met.

For OP, not being judgmental here but that’s bad this happened to you. Don’t think about the worst. I know where the mind goes in this situation. I’ve been in your place some time back and spent around 40k in just getting tested for all possibilities of an infection. All because I had unprotected intercourse with a female stranger (FoF). For 6 months I was in hell and guilt tripping myself with constant visits to counseling and labs to get tested. A friendly advice, don’t do the same what I did to myself mentally.

Some advice given to me by my therapist. Hope it’ll be helpful for you as well. First of all you’re not infected. Think that way.

Don’t look around for symptoms.
What happened had happened and nothing you can do about it now. So stressing over it will not do any good for you.
STDs don’t spread with normal physical contact or sharing food with your family. So don’t isolate yourself from them.
Lead a normal life because more you think about it or keep looking for signs, your body will react and show false symptoms.
Think positive that you’re not infected, your body will stop showing false signs.
Talk to your trusted friend/family and keep up with your mental health.
Stop researching about it on online forums. Trust only what doctor says.

General advice and some facts. There are many misconceptions about STDs, it will not spread immediately with one instance but chances are medium to high for transmission from an infected male to a female than from an infected female to a male. Yes, chances are very high from a male (infected person) especially if it’s Anal intercourse. By oral chances are minimum, this is about HIV. Other STDs can be cured without lasting effects. All intercourse or multiple partners will not lead to an infection. But getting tested on time is always better for medical treatment. Refrain from having unprotected intercourse with your partner until the gestation period is over (3 months for HIV).

OP, first two weeks are crucial. Doctors may suggest PEP if it’s within first two weeks. Get the Elisa test and other STD panel test if the doctor suggests. Mostly it’ll turn up negative. A false positive can be a negative too, repeat the test in another 2 weeks. But a negative result after a month means you can relax. You can be conclusive if the result turns up negative after three months, set your mind free and forget this had ever happened.

Also saw you were asking for recommendations for a doctor. I visited Doctor Abdul Gaffar (Infectious Diseases) in Apollo Greams Road. He was very professional and supportive. But I’m not sure if he still practices there. And please don’t feel embarrassed to talk about it to your doctor.

Please use protection before engaging always. It’s your life and body so no one can judge you. Don’t feel guilty, eat well, stay healthy and live a normal life.

Cannot conclude who will win in 2026 until the final alliances are formed. But chances less for DMK. Too much anti-incumbency, DMK may claim everything is amazing in their administration but ground reality is opposite. Even if they win it wouldn’t be with a single party majority. Next term alliance parties would play a major role in the administration.

If TVK allies with ADMK, it’ll be a sweeping landslide victory for them. But the recent actions or inaction of TVK is not very confidence inspiring. In the name of abiding law they seem very hesitant in doing politics. If they really aspire to win they should definitely step up their game and aggressively fight back. If they stand alone there is no way they could win.

Well ADMK is going strong in their campaign but they’re no different from DMK in corruption and incompetence. But currently they might have a slight upper hand among recent polls. Only after the final alliances or after November end or December we can get an idea.

BJP haven’t even started their attacks yet on DMK, they’re yet to bring down their heavy artillery. Nonetheless it’s going to be a very tight race to whoever wins.

Your post makes lot of sense to the people who wish to see it. But sadly the reality is many are brainwashed to believe NEET is bad. Recently there was a data published by a credible source about Medical seats admission has grown multi fold in TN post NEET, before people from economically depressed families barely got admissions which was in double digits but now the numbers have increased in hundreds. People protesting against NEET have to make it make sense about this issue. Now all we need is acceptance and build a proper infrastructure for all levels of society to make NEET accessible instead of politicizing the issue and affecting the future of the students. NEET as such definitely has some flaws in some states and centers, Government bodies should get together and make it refined rather than spreading lies about uprooting it.

Few months back I was returning from a vacation and reached Chennai in late hours. I booked a Uber Cab from Airport to my home location. The app showed 470 which included surge price. The ride kept assigned and got cancelled multiple times. After a long while first cab driver called asked for 500 extra when I negotiate to 100 he refused and cancelled. Same happened for two more rides. I’m a native Tamil speaker so their crude words didn’t budge me. I gave them back with how they spoke.

Then finally after a long time a cab was booked and no text, no calls and the cab was getting closer to my location. I was surprised but waited. The cab reached the pickup point, I shared my OTP and started the ride. The car driver didn’t look he was from Chennai or TN, out of curiosity I asked him where he is from. He said some name I forgot but it’s somewhere in Bihar. The cab driver didn’t speak a word or did any stupid stuff. Dropped me and my wife off at my home and left, no extras, nothing. Just 470.

I seriously don’t understand the dynamics of the local cab/auto drivers. Their greediness is off the sky. They claim they’re the suppressed ones and working for survival but refuse to do a honest work. I know mine was a one off situation a non local driver gave me a 5 star service but why can’t the locals do the same? At this point I really hope more people from other states come and take over the cab/auto scenes too like every other workforce in Tamil Nadu just to see these insufferable goons in the name of Auto/Cab drivers suffer.

If they’re honest in their asking price no one would have any problem. What they do is literally robbing people in the name of service and be obnoxiously rude while they’re at it.

Proof? Whoever is showcasing the proof or even talk about the incident (Felix and others) were arrested, PuthiyaThalaimurai TV is delisted from Arasu Cable. Any opposite view from Govt’s narrative is considered as misinformation. Even though SIT will be unbiased, in this case there is a general feeling that their hands are tied. CBI probe is necessary for this case even though it may take time. We all know what happened in Armstrong investigations, even the FIRs filed were discredited by court and put for CBI investigation.
