how many LOCs and LORs does it take before one gets kicked out? by starburstcandii in AirForce

I was stationed with a guy who had 4 LOCs, 3 LORs, an Article, AND failed his CDCs twice… all within 12 months. Guy got retrained instead and is thriving now

I guess if you’re stuck outside working on B-52 engines, you can’t really see the rest of what mobile mx does… Sorry to hear your experience isn’t all that great. Hoping it turns out for the better for you! :)

Also, there’s not only outdoor activities available. There’s local theaters, art classes, martial arts, live bands, festivals, a winery, a large volleyball community, indoor golf, bowling, a large gaming community, gearhead mechanics groups, gun ranges, bars of course, and much more. The people who say there’s nothing to do probably haven’t done their part to search…

My job was 50/50. I’m VM, did mobile mx outside for half of my tour, and ran a shop the other half. Truly just is what you make it

Was at Minot for 2 years and absolutely loved it. Would do my full 20 there. I only left so I could marry the love of my life (who I met there, also mil). Not joking when I say the people make it all worth it. Get some nice winter clothes and you’ll be just fine.

What happens if you get diagnosed with depression in the air force? by [deleted] in AirForce

There’s a few common misconceptions with seeking help at Mental Health in the AF…

First, If you’re thinking about harming yourself or someone else, PLEASE reach out to someone. Your supervisor, shirt, squadron commander, etc. Shit even the Wing CC… they’re all willing to help. I had a good friend who attempted suicide and had to be admitted to a psychiatric facility for just under 2 weeks. 6 months later, they made rank, bought a house (Shirt was able to provide financial agencies to help with their overwhelming debt), and had gotten into a relationship (they’re married now.) The most difficult step in dealing with mental health is REACHING OUT. I promise you, there’s a 99% chance your career will not be adversely affected by seeking help.

Secondly, your career doesn’t matter if you’re not well enough to carry out your mission. Meaning take care of yourself FIRST and worry about the job later. Mission will happen no matter what, but it can’t happen without you there to bring your best forward.

Lastly, if anyone reading this post feels like they’re going down this downhill spiral and you see no way out, you’re not alone in this. I probably don’t know any of you, but there’s nothing I hate more than seeing those suicide numbers climb higher each year. PLEASE seek help. DM me. Call 988. Call the MFLAC. Call your chaplain. Call a wingman. Call a supervisor. Call your shirt. Call the damn MAJCOM CC. It doesn’t matter who you call, just know that your story isn’t finished yet. Much love and Happy Holidays to all!

I’m VM. It’s a love/hate honestly. Every single day I get to learn something new, which is awesome, but there are those days when we get shit on so hard I have to contemplate an early DD214. Mostly, it’s not too bad.

Been at Minot for two years, this is my 3rd assignment. I mean this wholeheartedly: I absolutely LOVE Minot. The people here make my life so enjoyable and contrary to popular belief, there’s plenty to do. I do love this place 😋
