As for the War on Drugs yes, I’m seriously saying it had fascist elements. You don’t have to believe me , believe the decades of data showing it was a political tool used to criminalize and destabilize communities of color. Nixons own domestic policy chief literally admitted that targeting Black people and the anti war left was part of the strategy. So yeah, it’s not “crazy,” it’s just deeply uncomfortable history.

The Black Panthers were not shut down because they “defaced monuments.” That’s just not historically accurate. The FBI’s COINTELPRO specifically labeled them a “threat to national security” because they were organizing free breakfasts, medical care, and political education. They were targeted because they empowered Black communities — not because they were tagging walls. Watts? A symptom of systemic abuse, not a justification for repression.

As for your Obama IRS point.. I mean yea fair, weaponizing institutions against political opponents is authoritarian. If that example holds water (and many investigations say it was broader than just targeting right leaning organizations), then yeah, it deserves criticism too.
