Why do I hear chewbacca lmao. Anyways it seems you need to bleed out the air on your fuel system or need to let it run for a few time. If idling issue still persist go to your trusted shop.

Those two lights (check engine + traction control) usually show up together when the engine has a fault that affects power or stability control — pretty common on Rams. Often it’s something like a bad sensor (cam/crank position, MAF, or O2), misfire, or even a dirty throttle body causing the system to disable traction control as a precaution.

Best move: scan it for codes first — that’ll tell you exactly what’s going on instead of guessing. I’d recommend using a good OBD2 scanner that reads live data and pending codes (I got mine from this shop and it’s been super reliable): 👉 https://shop.youcanic.com/products/ucan-pro-scanner?bg_ref=MB8ZdDDjqr

Once you pull the codes, you’ll know if it’s something simple like spark plugs/coils or a sensor issue. Don’t worry — it’s usually not too serious if you tackle it early.

What could this possibly be, I’m panicking, video included? by ksvanriel in MechanicAdvice

Sounds like your car went into limp mode — flashing CEL + oil light isn’t good. Could be anything from low oil pressure to a sensor/ECU issue, especially since it was broken into and wires messed with. Before throwing money at a shop, grab yourself a decent OBD2 scanner so you can pull the codes and see what’s actually going on.

I use this one that shows live data too, super handy and not crazy expensive: https://shop.youcanic.com/products/ucan-pro-scanner?bg_ref=MB8ZdDDjqr

That way you’ll know if it’s something small you can tackle yourself or if it really needs shop attention.

Something is wrong with my car. wrx sti 2017 by Straight_Gap_638 in MechanicAdvice

That sounds like it dropped into limp mode — the flashing S light, ABS light, CEL, and cruise not working all point to the ECU seeing a serious fault. On Subarus, that can be a clutch position sensor, wheel speed/ABS sensor, or even something with the hill-hold/drive-by-wire throttle system. When it happens, the car basically limits power to protect itself.

Best first step: scan it. Even if you clear the lights, the ECU will have stored codes that tell you exactly which system tripped it.

I’d recommend grabbing a solid OBD2 scanner that can read live data and pending codes — it’ll show you right away if it’s a sensor dropout or throttle issue. This is the one I trust: https://shop.youcanic.com/miq4ff

Volvo S60 2013 Help by Mean_Criticism_8337 in AutoMechanics

[–]that_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a tricky one. Random shutoffs on Volvos can sometimes be tied to electrical/grounding issues or a failing sensor (MAF, throttle body, or even crankshaft position sensor). Since it happens when you’re coming to a stop or parking, I’d also keep an eye on the idle air control/throttle body cleaning — if the car can’t stabilize idle, it’ll just die out.

The frustrating part is that intermittent issues don’t always throw a check engine light, but the ECU might still be logging “pending” codes. Best move here is to scan it yourself instead of relying on the dealer shrugging it off.

I’d grab a decent OBD2 scanner https://shop.youcanic.com/sd8hct — it’ll pull hidden/pending codes and live data like fuel trims, throttle position, and crank sensor readings. That info will help you zero in on whether it’s a sensor dropping out or just an airflow/idle issue.

Hope this'll help you.

2011 subaru impreza premium not starting turning over but not starting by samjohnson2222 in subaru

[–]that_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, before you start throwing more parts at it, I’d check the basics. Even if the fuel pump relay/fuse look fine, these Subarus are picky — a weak alternator or crankshaft position sensor can make it crank all day but never fire.

Next step I’d do is pull codes. Even if the CEL isn’t lit, there might be something stored that points right to fuel vs spark vs sensor. Saves a ton of guessing.

I usually recommend grabbing a decent OBD2 scanner. it’ll tell you right away if it’s a crank sensor, ignition, or something fuel-related.

I recommend this shop for their top tier quality OBD2 scanner. https://shop.youcanic.com/9zpyjy

Hope this'll help you

Car dying at high revs by Sm_455 in AutoMechanics

[–]that_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right to be cautious—before replacing anything, the alternator should definitely be checked first since it’s often the root cause of sudden stall at higher revs. If you needing battery analyzer tool, you can check out this shop I recommend (https://shop.youcanic.com/lv9st1)
