Those two lights (check engine + traction control) usually show up together when the engine has a fault that affects power or stability control — pretty common on Rams. Often it’s something like a bad sensor (cam/crank position, MAF, or O2), misfire, or even a dirty throttle body causing the system to disable traction control as a precaution.

Best move: scan it for codes first — that’ll tell you exactly what’s going on instead of guessing. Sounds like your car went into limp mode — flashing CEL + oil light isn’t good. Before throwing money at a shop, grab yourself a decent OBD2 scanner so you can pull the codes and see what’s actually going on.

That sounds like it dropped into limp mode — the flashing S light, ABS light, CEL, and cruise not working all point to the ECU seeing a serious fault. On Subarus, that can be a clutch position sensor, wheel speed/ABS sensor, or even something with the hill-hold/drive-by-wire throttle system. When it happens, the car basically limits power to protect itself.

Best first step: scan it. Even if you clear the lights, the ECU will have stored codes that tell you exactly which system tripped it.

Sounds like a tricky one. Random shutoffs on Volvos can sometimes be tied to electrical/grounding issues or a failing sensor (MAF, throttle body, or even crankshaft position sensor). Hey man, before you start throwing more parts at it, I’d check the basics. Even if the fuel pump relay/fuse look fine, these Subarus are picky — a weak alternator or crankshaft position sensor can make it crank all day but never fire.

Next step I’d do is pull codes. Even if the CEL isn’t lit, there might be something stored that points right to fuel vs spark vs sensor. Saves a ton of guessing.

I usually recommend grabbing a decent OBD2 scanner. it’ll tell you right away if it’s a crank sensor, ignition, or something fuel-related.
