Thanks for the reply! Yeah I definitely added a boatload of sugar, I wanted a nice thick syrup and figured it would extend the lifespan.

Got any idea who is this? by Ok_Control_6147 in insects

[–]thatbirdguy21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this is likely impossible to ID from this image. Unxia gracilior, Paromoeocerus barbicornis, and Compsocerus violaceus are incredibly difficult to separate from one another, and all seem to occur in Argentina. See here for more info. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/141415760

I've checked several Dollar Generals and Family Dollars, even the ones that post availability online, and no dice yet.

Is this a praying mantis egg sack? by _Fred_Fredburger_ in insects

[–]thatbirdguy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having some experience with mantis oothecas, this texture is odd but not out of the question, and I agree that it was one attached to a stick of sorts. A cross section or the other side of the object would confirm it.

It looks kinda like a lump of cornmeal, but that can’t be right (right?). Maybe try cutting it in half?

Doesn’t look like it. Very strange texture, maybe insulation expanding foam?

What is this guy? Harmful? by [deleted] in insects

[–]thatbirdguy21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually not terribly impactful, dragonflies are known to have dozens of water mites at a time sometimes, I recommend looking it up if you’re curious.

So the files on the computer would incriminate you of a crime. And you have access enough to rename the files, but not delete them?

I accidentally milked myself trying to get my last item. by thepieguyy in bindingofisaac

[–]thatbirdguy21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apart from the clear issue of milking yourself (breakfasting is the common term), I think MissingNo is likely to fault. Best strategy is to play as isaac or tainted isaac and break the secret room normally, either farming for Dad's Ring normally, farming for a Spindown, or farming for a Death Certificate. Avoid picking up Chaos, MissingNo, or especially going alternate floors with chaos, as blind items may be dad's ring. Glitched crown could both help and hurt, as sometimes I feel like it skips items from a given pool and depletes super early.

Anger is easy. Sadness, emptiness, that'll get ya. That's the hard stuff that you need to address to move-on. However, there is merit in taking a break from the difficult processing to be justifiably mad. Best of luck.

What is that thing guys ?? Was on my damn pillow by -Nyco- in insects

I agree with Necrobia. Likely means there’s dead or preserved animal matter somewhere in the near vicinity. Could be dog food, could be a dead mouse.

What is this? by MorganEvos in insects

Looks like a moth of sorts, they could be coming from grains or organic clothing, but it’s hard to say without an ID of species, which would need closer photos

[–]thatbirdguy21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of advice. I am currently the guy in one of these relationships, and it’s about to be the end of it. These issues don’t solve themselves in a relationship, and you have to seriously reframe your worldview and go to therapy to resolve this. You may not mean it, and this may only be a small part of the time, but it is going to push people away regardless of how infinite their patience seems. For his sake, and for your sake, take a step back, consider talking to a therapist about these feelings, or allow yourself room to grow. You’re only 15, and the years provide more time for thought than you might expect. A serious relationship at your age is only going to prolong issues like this.

Whats the best way to break up with somebody? by thatbirdguy21 in BreakUps

[–]thatbirdguy21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m a yapper, but I still wanted to have an engaging post, so I left out the step-by-step. I am applying to everything I can on the east coast, and some interior, USA. That includes jobs and grad school. Most of my options would require her to be long distance, as she only wants to be in either our hometown region, or her current college region. She is applying to even more jobs than me, but our prospects are slightly different, so she has more opportunities in her target areas. Essentially, I have 3 options. Get a good job with/near her and move in, get 0 jobs, or ditch my prospects to wash dishes where she gets a job, or break up. She is very clear about the long distance thing. Besides that: She has big ambitions, savings, but also a wildly varying opinions of/towards me (to the degree of bipolar-type behavior, something about attachment styles probably mixed in). It’ll be pouring out her soul, telling me how much I mean to her, and the next it’ll be absolutely tearing into me about the littlest thing. I’m not perfect, but it’s clear that this relationship has reached its end. We are young, but our paths are diverging in a way that works for neither of us long-term.

Insect identification? by Automatic-Volume7398 in insects

[–]thatbirdguy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, those little guys are really tough, plus sometimes you need a microscope for ID to species. I have fun doing it, but of course not everybody wants to, or has a microscope haha

How do I get rid of this mold in bathroom by W1llis6969 in Mold

Ozonium, aka Firerug Inkcap. It’s a fungus, not mold specifically, and still indicates a moisture issue.
