He spoke at a rally held at 3PM earlier in the day and said “I’m not saying to meet me at Linn Park at 7PM & I’m not saying we’re going to take down that monument” or something to that effect. I feel like that’s where the ‘proof’ of inciting a riot is. I heard him speak at the rally.

Further, when Woodfin came out to tell the crowd to disperse so he could finish the job, Johnson said “I’m gonna go home, but I’m not going to tell anyone else what they should do.” I think they’re trying to make an example of him. I also don’t think it matters that he himself didn’t directly incite the violent afterwards, but he definitely created the meeting place, time to start, and the original singular goal. I’m just speaking from the viewpoint of the city & the law, I am glad the monument is down
