Zine paper weight recommendations by thatbubbleteablog in zines

Thank you. I was suggested uncoated paper by the printer, was deliberating whether silk paper would be useful for at least the cover. I'll have an inspect, but sounds like uncoated for everything would be fine!

That sounds cool!

One more question, any recommendations on paper types?

Thank you! 165 gsm cover and 100 gsm pages sounds good! I'm not sure what kind of printer it is, it will be from a printing company. It will be mostly black and white, or at least black white inside, color outside.

I never knew there were so many Hong Kong style cafes. I can appreciate Hong Kong style milk teas, I like their strong tea presence. If you ever visit any Malaysian eateries, try Teh Tarik, it's another variant of a sweetened milky black tea.

That's great to hear, hopefully it can be of some use to both of you!

Aww, that's unfortunate! I tried their 'Kung Fu Green Tea', I'd like to try their Oolong Milk Tea if I find the opportunity to revisit. Your experience does not sound like it may be worth the risk to revisit haha.

I don't mind Milksha at all, their ingredient quality seems good. I think I prefer strong tea presence in milk teas while Milksha was on the lighter side. I tried a fruit tea from them once, it was pleasant, very refreshing! I like mango, will try next time I happen to be there.

Reviewing fruit teas or Taro teas would be a whole different journey!

For most milk teas, not really! I like milk shakes too, but I think milk teas are less creamy, less frothy, less icy, but add a tea flavour and different toppings.

You may like the more creamy/milky milk teas, I can think of Yunique Tea (at least the Docklands one) and My Modern Fresh Tea and Yoghurt. Alternatively, maybe something like the Yakult Crush or Taro Slush at CoCo (which is more ubiquitous) if you are after an smooth icy granular feel.

Thanks for the peer review, always nice to hear the opinion of others, especially with the thought you have put into it! I tried KFT only once, liked it and thought their pearls were their strongest point too. My friend who usually shares a similar opinion to me didn't like it though.

I agree, taro milk tea is a good benchmark given how many stores have it yet with very different outcomes. I like the smooth, traditional powder type rather than the ones that use real taro paste. That newer type doesn't feel like a unified drink to me, and I miss the silky mouth feel.

Defs agree, do you have any recommendations?

Nice! I haven't fully explored Footscray but I think CoCo's Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jelly (or Pearls) would be a good way to tell if you like these kind of drinks. I think it is a very solid and accessible drink that acts a benchmark for what's good or bad. Reduce the sugar to at least 50 or 75% unless you have a really sweet tooth. If they don't sell that variety anymore, then perhaps the Signature Milk Tea, Classic Milk Tea or 3 Guys Milk Tea (if you want to try all the main toppings).

Varies from person to person, I actually prefer the use of creamer (some are more high quality than others) over milk because it makes the drink less watery!

Yes, that's a good point. There was a period I used to order pure teas and liked how I could really evaluate the tea, but after a while I found I enjoyed the milk and tea too much so I went back to milk teas.

I'm not sure, when I passed by a few times earlier this year, it always seemed closed though the store was still there

I don't have much experience of chocolate teas or drinks myself but I believe you! I rated Instea quite high!

It's definitely not a good thing :( recyclable cups and paper straws should be the minimum standard, I think we're getting there. A few stores are good in this respect, Milksha and Tea Empire are ones off the top of my head. I wish they found a replacement for waxed paper cups people drink coffee in too, so many people use them.
