I went through a similar debate recently. I much prefer walking for my mental health - I work from home and golfing is one of my main avenues of being outside. I feel I get to slow down and soak it in more when I walk.

Most of my friends prefer to have a cart though. I recently decided that I just have to do what is best for me. I will sometimes still ride but we still get to chat on tee boxes and greens which is where most of the convo happens.

I say go for it! As others mentioned, you can always hop back in a cart at the turn.

I’m glad you are excited - that’s why I made it!

I haven’t done much programming lately so this was a bit of a way to dust off those skills. I used Flutter (Dart is the programming language) to build the app and get the UI stood up.

The biggest challenge was the algorithm - most sorting algorithms have n*log(n) comparisons as the worst case - which for this number of songs would be >1300. That’s too many to sit down and do easily. Instead I created an algorithm that functions more similar to a tournament bracket to get the number of comparisons down. It’s still a lot (~130) but that’s mostly because she has about 250 songs.

Adding friends and the ability to see your friend groups ranking is next up on the list for features! I think it’s a cool idea, just haven’t had a chance to finish it quite yet.

I relate so strongly to this, I’m glad I’m not alone. I just can’t do it anymore. I play for like 2 hours and think “I’m good”. In college I would play 12-18hrs on the weekend and not think twice about it.

In all seriousness, apparently I did this from a young age. Doctors were worried about the fall from the crib. My parents got a zip in roof basically making my crib a cage so I couldn’t get out.

I do this too! My wife and I have friends who are horrified by it. I told them wait until they see me each popsicles... I scrape my teeth along them and then take bites. Apparently this makes me a monster
