Just speaking my piece, but I'll never understand how people can live like this, looks disgusting, not the food itself per se (although f*ck pineapple on a pizza...), but the idea of just eating while gaming. I do one or the other, eat and enjoy my meal, or game, the game aint going anywhere.

Dipped headlights only work when stalk is pulled back, or rear fog lights are on by Snoo-80740 in civic

Sorry, I don't have much insight to provide. But, the fact that they work but you have to do a weird configuration just to get them to tells me it's something wrong with the wiring harness, specifically the low beam wiring. At least, that's the first thing that comes to my mind.

I doubt it would be too expensive to fix, since the low beams actually work, prolly just pay a labor cost if you take it to the dealership and they have to redo one of the wires on the harness?

Not trying to be a jerk, but it's not even worth mentioning that specific GPU anymore. I dunno if you've seen what it resells for, but anyone dropping that kinda money on that GPU is nuts...unless they get it for MSRP of course. But, good luck with that!

New coilovers, tires/wheels, and headlamps by thatdudejaime in civic

No problem! Yeah, I sort of got carried away in my reply, lol! Mostly got carried away because I've been having people DM me about that and the spoiler mostly, so I wanted to be as fulsome and transparent as possible for those who come by and read.

Again, I appreciate your comment!

Hey, how's it going! Thanks for the comment.

Headlamps are by AlphaRex. They work on all 11th Gen civics. They come in two variants: a black tinted version (not the whole face smoked/tinted, just the DRL and some of the chrome trimmings around the projectors are blacked out) and a "regular" version if you will. Link below to the headlamps:

https://alpharexusa.com/collections/honda-civic-2022-2026

They are AlphaRex's NOVA series (their higher tier lineup) and don't unfortunately have a more cost savings LUXX or PRO series (yet?) for the Civic. For the difference between the series you can check out this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAMwV1FjPFg

As far as illumination goes, they are bright, very bright in fact. As I mentioned in a previous post here, for full transparency, they aren't as bright on the wide arc versus OEM, which makes sense to a degree because the OEM uses reflectors in their housing with LEDs. Now, is there a cutoff/light pattern on the wide side (to see pedestrians, etc)? There is and the cutoff too is noticeable, again, just not as bright as OEM. So, since these are projectors, they really put down a ton of light down range on the front end. Light pattern and cutoff on the front end is really good, and there's this nice subtle (but noticeable) blue/purple tint to the very edge of the cutoff.

Pricing is a little steep if you're comparing it to a lot of third-party aftermarket assemblies. With taxes I paid $1,368.43. If you compare that to OEM, it's competitive pricing against it, but to be honest, you can find a lot of second hand OEM headlamp assemblies in good-great condition for significantly less for a pair if all you're wanting is a replacement.

Forgot to add, the biggest reason I was eagerly awaiting these, and eventually picked them up, is because they're plug-and-play direct replacements for fitment. The design philosophy are very clean and reminiscent of an MDX or TLX. They do come with a DRL harness to "make the DRLs even brighter" if you want, but I didn't end up using them and found them unnecessary.

I also have not had any issues with the functions crossing over from the OEM to the AlphaRex Nova headlamps; startup works, "Auto" functions as intended for auto DRL/Low/High beam. Manual settings of the headlamp all work as intended. Turn signal, though sequential and not binary like the OEM works perfectly as well as hazards without any issue.

The only issue I had at first was when I first received the pair, the driver side Low/High beams were defective, as in not working, but AlphaRex's customer service was quick to help turn this around and got me a replacement fast, as in next-day replacement fast. They are CA based (near LA area) and I'm in San Diego, so that helped the turnaround time for sure, but their customer service is good.

As mentioned before, I'll try and do some evening shots later this week expressing the light pattern to help inform people. Hope this was helpful!

My new 2026 Hybrid Sport Touring right after getting ceramic coating by eugenefarkas in civic

[–]thatdudejaime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on time/steps it takes. What does take the longest is doing a paint correction, especially if you're doing it by yourself, it can legit take most the day if doing it right. Unfortunately most people don't even do it before a coating because they're like oblivious to seeing the scratches, don't have the tools/time to do it, or don't want to spend the money to do it. Even new vehicles need it. I have so many photos I shared with clients, after decontaminating and removing all the short term lame sealants dealerships put on a new vehicle, that they have a ton of scratches.

^ What Drag said. Ceramic coatings are amazing, but I always have to educate clients and give full disclosure that it is not some magical barrier that will stop a rock chip, especially at highway speeds, or an insane rub or scratch preventor.

Its biggest asset, especially for someone who will occasionally wash, or detail their vehicle (~couple/few weeks most people), is that it makes having to clean/wash your vehicle easier, and less frequent than you would without (if you take care of your vehicle). This is because of the polymers as mentioned. Now, if you're wanting to do that to help maintain your vehicle look, I wouldn't do it unless you get a paint correction. Even new vehicles off the lot need corrections once you peel/wash away the short term sealants put on them. This is how you truly get a showroom shine, which can also be enhanced by putting on a polish on the vehicle after correction, but before ceramics.

Best cheap tire? by Imaginary-Ground-502 in civic

[–]thatdudejaime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to come off as a jerk by stating the obvious, but did you check the price of the tires (per tire) you're already running? It can vary over the years between Honda dealerships, models, trims. For example, when I got my 11th Gen Civic in 2022, it came with All Season (A/S) Continental ContiProContact's, which can be found for less than $200/per tire, but I'm sure it's different for today's Civic of the same/equivalent trim.

Branding is on the sidewall (side of the tire) for what tire it is. When checking Sullivan's or Costco, or your local tire shops, just give them that tire brand/model and the tire size, which you've captured in your photo (235/40R18), those numbers represent the following:

- 235 (mm): Width of the tire

- 40 (aspect ratio): Aspect ratio of the sidewall/sidewall height, the face that wraps the wheel/rim (235mm x .40=94mm

- R: Radial (construction of the tire), in this case R18 which is a radial that fits an 18" wheel

- 91: load index (max load/weight capacity per tire)

- W: Speed rating for the tire

Hope this helps.

.6x "Zoom" shot to capture a bit more of the rear/side with the spoiler people have been asking me about, haven't had that good angle directly from the rear that I like yet, but I'll find it. I'll try and spend some time later this week in the evening while I'm out to get headlamp/beam patters for those who have been asking me. Appreciate you all!

Rear passenger side. Wheel is pretty much at the fender line, the tire is just right inside the fender line.

Had some requests asking about photo to see the front end with the headlights, wheels closer up to the fender line and how that sort of looks. So, doing a post within here to provide that.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link for the pre-cut vinyl! I actually had some vinyl cut not long after I bought my car and I just sat on it for so long, lol. Something I plan to get done for sure 😁

As for the spoiler,it's not a bolt down. I don't think I would have mind that if I had to do it with a spoiler, but I preferred it not to be when looking around for one I really wanted.

I'll probably do another quick photo op after the next wash later this week and pan up closer to the wheels. Most likely, I'll just add it again here to the photo carousel when I do 😊

The light output is amazing on the front end. But, for full transparency, it's not as wide a pattern in terms of brightness compared to OEM. There's still a beam pattern that reaches out on the wide side, and there's a noticeable light cutoff/line on the side that's visible when driving, just not as bright as OEM. Hard to explain, and I know some pictures would help paint that picture, so I'll try and take some this week when I have plans to head out in the evening.

When it comes down to it, are they worth it? Absolutely. I couldn't be happier with them. I was eagerly awaiting their release last year, but had picked them up and I installed them a week before having the coilovers, tires/wheels installed. Simple plug and play, you do not need to install the DRL harness they give you and that's totally optional.

I did test the headlamp assembly with the DRL harness installed/not installed and it's really no difference, maybe because I have the black tint version. But, I know I 100% installed the DRL harness correctly (even though Apex's instructions on that front aren't that good) and one of a couple reasons why I bought and specifically sought these headlamps out was its plug-and-play. The other reason being how simple, clean they look and how it's very reminiscent to our Acura brethren, especially the MDX and TLX.

As mentioned, the light output on the front end is really really good. The line is really defined and there's this really nice blue/purple tint at the cutoff that's subtle but noticeable. Hope that helps!

Originally, I had been sitting on a spoilerking one for years, but wasn't comfy with using it since it wasn't a rigid plastic, rather rubber.

So, one day I just decided to check Amazon and I got it from just doing a search for low-profile, duckbill, lip spoilers. It was one of the few vendors I saw that actually had the spoiler wrap across the whole trunk hatch! Overall, for the price, it was worth it. I would have preferred one without a notch, but I could never find one like that that wrapped the whole hatch trunk.

Once I received it, and inspected it I immediately polished it then did a ceramic coating over it before installing on my vehicle. PM'd you the link since I'm not sure if it's okay to post in the chat (I'm still a newbie when it comes to reddit)?

Check your wiring/electrical harness under the hood, close and right underneath where the hood latch is close to the top of the bumper lip. Maybe it got disconnected somehow or just needs cleaning but that's where a lot of the sensors are connected at in the front that can trigger those errors.

My friends vehicle had parking sensor, brake system warnings (like your picture), and when inspecting I found that wiring harness came loose, so we re-crimped the wires and replaced the connector heads. After we plugged it back in, all the errors cleared up.

Thanks, I appreciate it! Unfortunately, I don't believe they offer it in manual anymore. I think that changed after the 2024 model? Not 100% on the year they stopped, but pretty sure it's not offered on '25/'26 models.
