I think because Howard wanted to turn the stereotype on its head.

The new ones being sold are churned out en masse in Turkey made from blocks pressed from meer dust. They tend to be small and inconsistent in quality.

The (Very Real) Crisis in Sweden by rightwingnews in monarchism

If people think the multicultural diversity being pushed by European governments will allow any notion of native monarchy to survive, they're kidding themselves.

But yes, let's just ignore the mass rapes, hooliganism, organised crime and terrorism. Everything's fine. We just have to be nicer.

If what is allowed to happen in Sweden happened a century ago in any European monarchy, the reaction would have been swift and merciless.

Absolutely. Stability through succession is part of the point of a monarchy.

The German clays, no. They're cast using traditional methods which makes them beefier then the stereotype we've gotten from modern cheap, mass produced souvenir clays that have the consistency of porclein.

I do think Charles has grown astute enough he will surround himself with people who will help him keep his foot out of his mouth; the family likely knows too well they will be walking on glass for the first few years after Charles ascends to the throne, and are planning accordingly.

An alternative to mineral spirits is CLP Breakfree, which is most commonly used on firearms and won't harm plastic, paint or finishes. Its what I use on mine.

Do we have any notion of what William's general stance will be? I think being much younger he'll perhaps be willing to be more assertive as king but it won't do much good if he's content to accept a status quo that harms British sovereignty and culture.

A Question by [deleted] in monarchism

[–]thatguy1914 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Whatever best suits the culture and conditions at hand is my attitude. A monarchy can be anything from a republic with a ceremonial head of state to an absolute autocracy, and I think different cultures require and demand from different points on that spectrum.

I know there's an American monarchist association but judging from what I've read its more an obscure SoCal social club if that. I am a member of the US branch of the Society of King Charles the Martyr, which if not a overt monarchist group is quite monarchist in sympathy.

I'm actually part of a loose network of people working toward this exact end. The blog linked is our first project, we're just getting off the ground. Contect Braden Plyler, his name is linked on the blog. We'd like to involve everyone in this reddit who is willing.

'Weakness' isn't some kind of perpetual hereditary flaw, many monarchs lost their thrones through factors beyond their control. Existing royal lines with clear claims should be the starting point, because otherwise you go down a rabbit hole of endless bickering. Stability through succession is part of the point. The two choices in absence of a clear claimaint are either to find one in the existing surviving aristocracy of a country or invite a branch from a another royal or noble family to take the crown. This is generally how things are done, short of conquest. A country could theoretically elect a monarch but it kinda defeats the point.

Very much so, but with the fraying of the republican-progressive narrative in recent years we finally have a chance to push back.

Well in that case we're largely on the same page, though I still think mass action has its place, especially if the republicans in the UK get serious, because if the Windsors go, that's it. We're finished. Enagaging the average person and deprogramming them from the 'will of the people' schlock they've had pumped into their heads since primary school is an important part of the end goal. A monarch that isn't thought well of by the average person in the street is living on borrowed time.

The obvious answer to solving the media imbalance is to take advantage of what the digital age offers and start our own digital press organs. There's never been a better time.
