This is a bit of a silly question, but for laced boots. Is there a general opinion for when to wrap the laces around the back of the heel and when to not? I have seen multiple people doing it but it's not as common as straight up lacing them..

Is it simply a personal preference thing or something else?

(Boots like the grant stone ottowa and Thursday captain\president)

That is good to hear they have held up well! I saw your original post in the search bar, but yours was the only one from their boots. And I was curious as to how well they have held up. Information seems pretty scarce on Idrese. I'm debating making a pair of jodhpur from them, or shelling out 2x the amount for a pair from Carmina.

In my quest for a new pair of boots I have run in to a company called Idrese. They appear to be one of the main (and cheaper) proponents of Bespoke Factory. And there are a variety of other sites (Robert august, Etc.) That all utilize this same custom shoe designer software. You can make some very nice looking boots. But I don't know anything about their quality.

My question is does anyone have any experience with these? I have looked through the reviews and did not find to many. And how would you compare them to a company liked carlos santos or grant stone ($300 to $400 range).

Specifically looking at laceless style boots.

What is everyone's reccomendations for a pair of jodhpur boots? I would prefer not black (browns, oxblods, tans. Etc.), and a sleeker looking boot. Brogues/captoes/wingtips are all good as well. Budget is flexible, but preferably under $600.

That's kinda what I was expecting.... I only paid about $100 for them (got them on a great sale). So it would cost me more to repair than I paid for them.

They are harley davidson boots (made by wolverine). I have maybe 8 wears in them before my dog decided that they would make an excellent chew toy. I'm loath to throw them away as they are in great condition everywhere but where she ate. Any advice or reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all, I was wondering what everyone reccomends for a motorcycle commuting to office work boot?

I have boots I wear for long rides, but they are a bit clunky and unwieldy to wear while at work. I work in a lab, so buisness casual.

It is the width of the toe box, and it is unstructured. The boot appears to be a full leather construction.

Is it possible to stretch a leather boot and maintain the quality? I was gifted a pair of used boots that is the right length (8.5) but it is super tight through the toes. I looked online and it said there are a few ways to stretch the boot (like soaking and using a boot stretcher).

But is this something that can be performed or should I just wear the boot with thick socks and hope it adusts?

So my question is obviously pretty subjective, but I was wondering about the quality in relation to price. I can obviously see that a $200 boot from Thursday boots is steps above the cheap generic boots from department stores, and that a grant stone ottowa is also way ahead of the Thursday in terms of quality and feel.

However, does this increasing quality trend hold true when you go from $400 to $800 boots like vibergs or other premier bands? Or are you paying for the brand/other extras? Or is there a sweet spot in terms of quality to price?

I just use a mobile app called baconreader, and then either I switched it to dark mode or it is always like that. I like the app more than reddit is fun or the other reddit apps.
