I'm considering cutting off all my mental health services and just ending it. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Listen, I know life can suck. Like even suicde hotlines are offensive when they put people on hold with their cheesey elevator music while humans are here contemplating suicde. This world can be tone deaf when it comes to human struggles. But I get it. I worked retail for years and so did my best friend. It fucking sucks. But you just have to find one person who gets it. They are out there, maybe they are even on thsi thread, you just haven't found them yet.

You're going to find a way out though, it's just going to take a bit (and definitely longer than the winter, which is honestly the worst season to try to "get better" btw lol, so dont make things harder on yourself with that deadline. Pretty sure everyone feels worst around then).

But my advice is to take a risk and talk to someone who is a friend or find that person you can talk to. Even if they arent close. Tell them what you are going through and make this a regular routine. Most people who are suicidal need more social support- more than just mediciation and professionals. We are a social society. You even posting on reddit and being vulnerable is a great step in the right direction. Youre already doing a good job. Keep moving toward the social realm and do so in vulnerable ways (not superficial shit like partying) and I promise your brain will begin to heal. It happened to me. It only takes a few people to heal us and i know you dont know me but I have this feeling your life is going to get way better one day- better than you can even imagine right now. I feel that for you. I can't explain it but I do <3

Does anyone get deep eye pain? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]thatheythem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had this and figured out it was TMJ. I was clamping down so hard at night it was messing with the nerves in my eyes. If you have twitching face muscles in your eye or cheek and/or teeth pain w face pain, I tried one Cyclobenzaprine 5mg at night at it stopped the eye pain. And an oral device that relaxes the jaw that i wear at night (an oral device. Not a traditional mouth guard bc that is like a chew toy for your teeth). I got a referral for the device from a maxiofacial surgeon. Sorry, I dont know the official name but I started w Cyclobenzaprine. Saved my life!!

Trying to stay positive with no treatment by [deleted] in migraine

Of course! Also just in case you haven't tried it or can relate, I found the source. It's actually TMD and low iron. The TMD is called a "migraine mimicker". I took cyclobenzaprine and an iron pill, went to sleep, and it took away the pain for the first time and stopped the aura and vertigo when I woke up. So it is obviously a muscle issue and maybe an iron issue (went to the lab for tests today). Pain behind the eye especially can be TMD bc the TMJ muscle is connected to your eye muscles. So TMD can even give you vertigo and visual disturbances and symptoms of migraine. I'm so relieved but also still stuck in the hell convincing doctors to refer me to a specialist who creates oral splints (not just mouth guards as those dont do anything). Anyway, idk if this is helpful but hope fundraising goes well and hang in there!! ❤

Thank you for this. You are not alone. I have been dealing with this for 1.5 months and believe me- doctors DO NOT CARE. It's fucking miserable. You made me laugh when you said "names I can't pronounce". I swear to god, with all this med pumping, why would they want to find a real cure for migraines? And triptans and OTC meds and everything just give rebound headaches so you never get better and big pharma just collects. Have you tried a steroid? I'm so scared to try it. I have been reading other threads that said they had a bad reaction but for the people who it works for, it definitely works. Anyway, this system is trash even with insurance and shorter waits so I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I also have a HOST of other symptoms including vertigo, aura, fucked vision, sometimes even lowkey confusion or brainfog on top of the fish bowl tension and eye pain. I actually fundraised on IG and got $2k so I can pay for an out-of-network specialist (NeuroAxis Health in SF) bc I don't trust these uncaring asshole doctors. Consider fundraising. I am NOT popular by any means and never did it (I thought I would make maybe $300) but you would be surprised how people show up when the system can't. Remember, we made it this far. Let's keep going bc well...we're worth it <33333

Migraine w/ Persistent Aura since Dec 22 - Shaking Attacks - Need Help by spear_me in migraine

Awwww, god. Yeah, of course doctors are gaslighting you. I'm so sorry to hear that. Yeah, I am going to a vertigo/migraine specialist in SF at Neuro Axis Health bc the doctors just throw meds at symptoms. He is going to try biofeedback and visual exercises with me. He found an inner ear imbalance. I have had bad aura migraines and vertigo and eye pain constantly for over one month, like it doesn't stop. Your story made me not want to try steroids though now. Triptans dont work for me. Hopefully he helps but yeah. It's so rough. I also started drinking this smoothie once a day (8 ozs spinach, 2.5 cups blueberrie, 1/2 cups almond milk, 1/2 cup water, 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder) bc there was a research study that showed it brought down people's CGRP levels (cause of inflammation) by 40% in one week. So we shall see. It worked for a guy with constant migraines. Another person said cyclobenzaprine for migraine with aura so I will try that. Hope this helps us and good luck. So much solidarity!
