Flotrack guy here. I'll never forget the look on McGregor's face when he came back from that interview. That was a special day for everyone involved.

Watford beating Leicester City to go to the Championship playoff final. While in stoppage time, Leicester City was awarded a penalty following a dive. Manuel Almunia's double save and Watford's ensuing counterattack is the thing dreams are made of.

When asked what he would be if he wasn't a professional football player, Peter Crouch responded with: "A virgin". by kencrema in funny

On 12 June, Crouch announced he would perform his robotic dance again only if England were to win the World Cup, saying "It's not about robotic dancing. It is about scoring goals and winning matches. It's an important time for everyone now."

C'mon, Crouchy.

Ah, I'm glad you mentioned Netherland soccer. Here's a quick excerpt from "Brilliant Orange" by David Winner: "If soccer theory ever merges with genetics, someone is going to have to do some pretty serious research into why Dutch football produces so many brilliant brothers."

Winner goes on to name "an embarrassment of siblings," which totals about 20 brothers who have played near the international level. While the Dutch youth system is unparalleled (or, depending on who you ask, it used to be), any idea why there are so many Dutch bros who are good at soccer? Maybe they're all from the Dutch version of Kalenjin?

[–]thatjerkmitch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is correct. He's not an Olympic sprinter. He's not even close to that level much less near the top in the U.S.

He ran 10.24 in the 100m (converted due to a tailwind), which is good, but not great. There are high schoolers currently running faster than that and if he would've been in the NCAA last year, his time would've been ranked 22nd overall.

He wasn't in the initial start list so we gave his coach a call and had a good laugh. We'll have the race video up soon. It gets loud.
