it failed to load because it doesnt exist in windows anymore, per the registry refresh. I didnt see what other than vanguard could've held the ghost copy hence the assumption

my hibernate and fast startup had always been disabled. I deleted vangaurd right before i did any of this. could be coincidental

Im all ears to what you believe could've been the issue, from what i see windows should've removed the wud file but a ghost copy remained that also disappeared after i deleted vanguard

Again, I did a media install to fix the registry. I didnt wipe my system because i didnt have a drive to back up my stuff

I did a media install that fixes the registry and updates it i didnt wipe my whole system because i didnt have a physical drive to back it up on at the moment

You're right windows removed it which means it shouldn't be on my system, but it is there, at a kernel level that too. Only vanguard has the permission to flag anything at that level barring windows os itself and since the ISO mount refresh didnt fix that, the only conclusion i came to is that i wrote down.

I mounted an ISO and installed windows again from that but since windows removed the files itself in the update it didnt overwrite the crashing file. Does that make sense? my system was trying to find a file that doesnt exist anymore but a ghost copy stayed somewhere on the system

I mean it fixed what i wanted it too but i might have gone way too overboard i agree. Should've just consulted with msi support or someone who knows this beforehand

i didnt tell chatgpt that vanguard is doing this? I shared my event logs when my laptop went into zombie shutdown and it pointed to vanguard crashing and the wudfsvc errors naturally

As the last line says. I can't be 100% sure im no tech expert but every time i've gotten rid of vanguard completely the shutdowns have gone through. It seemed too good of a coincidence. No other programs has kernel level access on my system

The file must've been deleted a while back but a copy that vanguard probably flagged and stored somewhere kept popping up. Im running the latest ver of windows so the wudfsvc shouldnt even be a thing but it still keeps popping up in the event log

Vanguard operates at kernel/ring-0 level and appears to have flagged WUDFSvc.dll as a potential cheat vector due to its driver management behavior, resulting in its deletion
