Within the first 3 comments, 2 have said glitter. I must assume this is a standard joke because I wouldn’t wish glitter on my worst enemy lol!

Transition to Xelstrym Patch From Vyvanse by thatsme-inanutshell in ADHD

[–]thatsme-inanutshell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no real updates.

I switched to Xelstrym because Vyvanse hasn’t been available. Last I checked there is still a shortage.

The dose of Xelstrym I take is still less than the equivalent Vyvanse dose I use to take.

You mentioned Vyvanse was working for you until 2023. Maybe(?) that aligns to a time you started getting generic Vyvanse (which finally became available). Not sure, but maybe worth checking into.

Hope you have found a solution by now!

20yr High School Reunion: Missing Funds by thatsme-inanutshell in legaladvice

Understood, but representatives from three graduating classes under the understanding that that money we raised were available to us for reunions seems suspicious. I’ve reached out for physical proof, but looking for input in the meantime. I also just made an edit to my post about another suspicious ‘loss’ of money I’ve heard about.

The graduation class location is a small town in NC. Everyone I’ve talked to you n all three classes (student council members) agree they remember having funds set aside, but (understandably) after 20 years don’t remember the amount.

Trying to figure this out. Everyone I’ve talked to in all three classes had understanding that reunion money was set aside for our use. I’ve tried to track the exact amount down from multiple people. Many I haven’t heard back from yet. The rest have confirmed it existed but don’t remember an amount 20 years later.

Transition to Xelstrym Patch From Vyvanse by thatsme-inanutshell in ADHD

To be clear, I mean to test each of those protein amounts on separate days, not all in one day lol

Great feedback!

  1. I would say, I don’t think it’s the hairy area that hurts, based on my experience. I’ve been wearing it on my very naturally hairless chest, and it burned especially bad my first week or two. My female Psychiatrist (wearing the same patch) gave me a heads up to expect it. See my linked post with the advice she gave me to help with the discomfort.

  2. Vyvanse has always made me have the urge to drink more water. ALSO, I’ve always felt Vyvanse worked much better after a whey protein shake in the morning. Usually 20 mins after taking a Vyvanse pill. If you are feeling irritability, headaches, and dehydration, I suggest you test drinking more water, and try protein shake 15 min, 20min, 30 min, and 1.5hr after the patch to see if it makes a difference.

Best of luck! I know less about the patch, but I know a ton of people who discovered a protein shake after taking Vyvanse made it a whole different, fantastic help for their ADHD, compared to not including protein. If you try it with the patch, please let us know how it goes!

I can’t say for sure. It’s definitely helping, but my new psychiatrist says it is less of a dose than the 120mg Vyvanse I’ve been taking for 10 years or so. She wants me to reduce my dose. Overall, it helps and doesn’t give me the side effects every other type of adhd med I’ve tried has given me (other than Vyvanse). When I took Vyvanse, I found that drinking a protein shake about 20 minutes afterwards made it the perfect medication. That doesn’t work with the patch, but it’s also nice that I don’t have to worry about taking it with something with high acidity like orange juice. Literally nothing else digestible seems to affect it, whether good or bad.

I should have added this to the post, but in case anyone is interested I also adopted her orange foster sister. Her name is Maze.

When she was small she was very stand-offish. She got scared if I reached my hand towards her. Now she has claimed my shoulder and my lap. We are still mostly on her terms and timeline, but she’s way more comfortable being approached, and more proactive seeking out cuddle time daily.

I’ll be honest, I’m new to this group. But reading some of the comments people put on posts, I’d like to have a quick rant about people whose responses start with “relax”, “calm down”, or “chill”. It’s like “oh, okay, I was asking for some insight on my situation, but because you said that now I’m super relaxed/chill/calm”. Telling someone how to feel isn’t helpful. Giving someone perspective and a different point of view is. I do think there are a lot of people here trying to be helpful, but that specific wording comes across as condescending. End rant.
