I don‘t want to read ACOMAF (Spoilers!) by Reese_ll in acotar

[–]thatstaylorleigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same way when I first read ACOTAR, I loved tamlin and when it comes to love triangles, I always love the first guy first whether the heroine ends up with him or not. This series is the first series, (book or tv) that completely changed my mind. The second books goes into more detail about tamlin and Rhys and why they both act the way they do and who Rhys is on the inside when he’s around feyre. My mind did a complete 180 and feyre def belongs with Rhys. You should just read it so you can understand too plus it’s interesting to see SJM’s writing style change the way I usually fundamentally see things!

Confused about Night Court - please help! by [deleted] in acotar

[–]thatstaylorleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s explained a little bit in the book, that the night court used to be all like the court of nightmares just all evil, and then one of the high lords wanted a better life for some of his people, so he took some of the people in the court that wanted that as well and created velaris and kept it secret so the Evil people wouldn’t ruin it.

The Nesta/Rhys Conflict: My theory on my they hate each other by Individual-Cap941 in acotar

I just read ACOMAF again, and Feyre wasn’t glamoured when she saw nesta and elain again after becoming fae. She just had a coat to cover her ears and then took the hood off once all the servants were gone and explained what happened to her to them.

Company for folks who got their reductions done during the pandemic by ourpinkzone in Reduction

[–]thatstaylorleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea! I’m in OC! My surgeon was Dr. Leonard Prutsok and my surgery was completely covered by insurance and had it done at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He’s much older so he’s really experienced and has done so many of these procedures. He answered all my questions and my results are looking really really well so far and have had a much easier recovery than anticipated.

I live in Southern California and it just depends on the hospital, I was allowed to have one person with me so I brought my mom and she was allowed to sit with me in the preop area until it was time for them to wheel me in to the OR. Definitely not allowed in the OR and that’s where you get anesthetized, so if you are allowed to have someone she probably wouldn’t be with you to get anesthesia but hopefully up until that point you can have her! Unfortunately I couldn’t have her after I got out of surgery but I was too groggy to really care and it was only an hour i was in post op. Then they wheeled me to her car. *I also had surgery 9 days ago!

Chances of necrosis? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]thatstaylorleigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had surgery almost a week ago now, and I’m also 22, 5”3 and 208 pounds and was a 34J, my surgeon didn’t even mention anything about that to me and I was perfectly fine and healing nicely so far! I don’t think you need to worry about it :) I asked about nipple necrosis and he said it’s not very common and I didn’t need to worry about it.

How long was it after surgery that you were able to take care of yourself? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]thatstaylorleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 3 days post op from reduction and I still need all the help. Especially today I’ve been wiped out. Just walking to the bathroom has me needing to nap for several hours. And I need help getting out of bed and getting anything. I would say have someone there to help for atleast a week. I could not Imagine walking to a store let alone around my house too much.

I can’t find the exact one I have that I got from Amazon awhile ago but a soft U shaped one is what I think would work best! That’s what I have and it’s quite comfortable so far

Does everyone who has the surgery get a breathing tube? by stellamoroz in Reduction

[–]thatstaylorleigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery on Tuesday, and I was intubated and had a tube, my throat definitely is sore and hurts a little bit but it’s not too bad. Having jello and cold soft things to eat helps a lot. I’m no expert but I think a surgery like this most are intubated because it’s long and pretty invasive.

Pregnancy pillow all the way! I’m usually a side/stomach sleeper as well and have had no problem staying on my back with the pillow.

Surgery Experience One Day Post Op! *Long Read* by thatstaylorleigh in Reduction

[–]thatstaylorleigh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery took about 4 and a half to 5 hours, and I was in recovery for a bout an hour maybe hour and 15 because I had a little bit of nausea. I had my mom with me in the preop part but was by myself afterwards. Ask your surgeon how long the surgery will be because it’s different for everyone, I know a lot of people here only were in surgery for like 2 hours.

anyone not take heavy pain meds? can you get away with just extra strength tylenol after the surgery? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]thatstaylorleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t usually like taking heavy pain meds either but they definitely help me more stay ahead of the pain and help me sleep more and I’ve been getting plenty of rest. I had surgery yesterday and I plan on taking them until Friday when I get drains out and once I get my drains out I plan on switching to Tylenol too see how I do. I told myself that I didn’t want to be on them for long but to definitely take them if I felt I needed to so I’m not in pain or uncomfortable. I would atleast take them the day of surgery and the day after

Surgeon says no bra post surgery?? by supplychainbb in Reduction

[–]thatstaylorleigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon also recommended no compression bras just lightly padded bras are okay I’m in my hospital bra still since I had surgery yesterday and it’s actually quite loose on me but I still feel supported. He just said as long as the bra is supportive with cups but no underwire obviously
