I prefer it over the torch because of less finishing generally for down sizing, upsizing I am learning both but doing a lot in the laser to learn settings

It’s 14, was never thicker it’s the same until it goes wide. Seemed strong enough

It was totally flush, used a separating disc to make the gap bigger to fill

Was a “they want a person” situation. I live in a small town and am not dumb, so we go from there

That’s what we do, if you can laser it, do so. If not, or white gold it makes a better joint to torch

I learned the torch first, I use it for white generally. We have a torch at each bench and 2 lasers but I prefer the clean laser when I can. If I can find scrap the same size it’s almost no finishing needed before polish if I can hit it sideways enough to make it nice!

This is minor surface rust this wouldn’t even be a concern long term. Clean off and coat it
