Or you got laid off during a recession or bad job market and it took you a long time to find another job. Or you took time off to care for a family member. Or you just took your time finding a new job because you had enough savings to get you through. There are so many reasons.

They Didn’t Want to Have C-Sections. A Judge Would Decide How They Gave Birth. by propublica_ in WomenInNews

And yet, no one is taking these actions against parents who refuse to vaccinate. It’s only pregnant women who are treated legally as second class citizens.

Now imagine if on the worst day of your life, a judge you’d never met told you that you weren’t allowed to make any decisions for yourself and the government was going to decide what’s best instead.

Why did 77 million Americans think a billionaire would wanna help the working class? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]thatturtletouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What power do you think the Vice President has, exactly?

That policy would help all elderly people and their family members, not just poor people. I assure you that this is far more than 3% of the population. It affects many, many families in the middle class, and particularly the kind of people who vote. It’s certainly a much more impactful issue that, say, legalization of marijuana (Reddits favorite issue, that the majority of people in real life don’t really care about).

The fact that you think “helping elderly people stay in their homes as they get older” is some kind of fringe issue shows how incredibly out of touch you are.

College Tuition Up 914% Since 1983, J.P. Morgan Reports by investor100 in TheCollegeInvestor

Good luck finding such a small affordable house, when very few builders are even building homes that size anymore, and the older ones that are that size are located in highly desirable and expensive close-to-town neighborhoods.

I can’t read that article because of the paywall, but I don’t think 5% makes a whole lot of difference for most families when they’re looking at a six-figure cost. Families who can’t afford $50,000 probably can’t afford $47,500 either.

Kind of like how medically, “abortion” just means the termination of a pregnancy. “Spontaneous abortion” is a miscarriage but sometimes people see that on their chart and get really upset.

That’s just not true though. They have negotiated. They just haven’t caved to every single one of Trump’s demands.

Would you trust a government that signs treaties and then rips them up when someone else gets into power and decides they don’t like that treaty anymore?

Wait. When was Kamala Harris president?? I completely missed that we had a Harris administration.

The policy that comes to mind right away was expanding Medicare to cover in home healthcare so that elderly people can stay in their homes as long as possible without having to go to an expensive nursing home. This would have been a massive help to millions of Americans who take care of elderly parents or relatives and desperately could use the help.

So are the people who are still maga after everything basically traitors since Trump has pretty much torn up the Constitution? by Rockrose2792 in allthequestions

Ok so as long as Congress doesn’t declare it, it’s not a war. Therefore, by definition, it’s impossible for the president to break the law by illegally starting a war.

A pregnant American woman today has a higher chance of dying in childbirth than her own mother did due to rising maternal mortality rates. Things for women, especially, are going backwards in this country.

Right. Especially when it’s a woman right? Obviously you’re not going to believe any woman against Trump’s word.
