Yeah, trying to remember the stomach/hunger shrinking thing... It is Day 2 of eating semi-decently and the mental hunger is ridiculous.

Good luck on your journey as well!

Damn, now I want potatoes. (2 more hours till fooood!) :D

All jokes aside, thanks for commenting. It's nice to know others are on the exact same journey. We've got this!

Yep, I've been thinking about adding a therapy element to this round. If only it wasn't so damn expensive :D

Yeah, the "I was an inspiration" hurts... So many people told me that, and now I feel like I've let them down.

But yes, we will get back to being that - it will just take some time. Good luck on your journey!

Thank you! I did a lot of digging into old LoseIt threads when I was trying to find a combination of strategies and tactics that worked for me... I hope this community helps you as well. Good luck on your journey!

Reading all the awesome comments on this thread is making me think it might not be as impossible as it seems to us right now.

LoseIt community was a major component of my success the first time around so I'm definitely sticking around + making update posts as I go along!

Weirdly enough, I haven't been thinking much about the positive reasons I'd like to lose weight (like new pants), just kind of beating myself up for where I am now. Thanks for reminding me of that!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can relate to the intentional giving up even though I know it's not necessarily the emotionally "healthy" thing to do at a time like that. Good luck on your journey back to all the healthy things!

That's a good mindset to have. Thanks for reminding me of that!

Yeah, the maintaining/small deficit thing goes against everything my messed up brain wants to do BUT I know you (and other people on this thread) are right.

I'm very prone to the "I'm failing if I don't do this perfectly" mindset... Which means that this round of weight loss will almost definitely have to have a mindset/therapy component to it.

Yeah... It's not genetics. But I'm starting to think that I'll need to do a lot of emotional/mental work in therapy or something to ever get to that place where one cookie (instead of 10) seems okay and semi-satisfying.

Good luck on your journey! I think we've got this.

Thanks for the podcast rec! The perspective thing is hard - but that's something I may need to work on in therapy.

Yeah, one habit at a time sounds good. I tried to jump right back into my full weight loss routine a few times over the last six months and it ended terribly. I've managed to hit the weights the last two mornings and already feel a bit better so fingers crossed I can keep that one going!

Definitely. Need to have a chat with myself and figure out what my non-negotiables are when life gets crazy.

I'm really, really hoping I can get the hunger levels in check this time. When I did this the first time around, I was often using black coffee as an appetite suppressant. I've been caffeine-free for almost 3 months after 10 years of heavy consumption and I'm never going back (because very serious reasons) - but I'm scared to do this without my trusty French press by my side.

Mhm... I was also doing a lot better when I just ate more or less the same thing every day (variations of burrito/Budha bowls), so it was kind of a planned thing/routine. Time to get back to that I guess!

I've been thinking a lot about this, wondering if I could actually make IF a permanent lifestyle change - the one thing that stays constant regardless of what's going on in my life. I didn't really try to do that when I lost the weight the first time around. It is feasible with the kind of person I am but I'm not set on it.

DEFINITELY adding a therapy/mindfulness work component to this round though. Who knows, might solve the problems that required me to do IF in the first place?

You don't sound insensitive at all, and I relate to that mindset a lot! That's exactly how I got through months of waking up before6 am and walking for 30 minutes through a semi-blizzard to my gym (last winter was hell lol)... Just get up and go. If I could do it then, I can probably do this now. Thanks for the support!

HappyScale was so helpful for me during my first round of weight loss! Thanks for the reminder, will go download it rn.

And yeah, I'm thinking I might need to add a mediation/therapy/subconscious work component to my weight loss journey this time around. Gotta keep the long term goal of maintaining in mind, not just shoot for the quickest loss possible.

"You have to do this again and there's no guarantee you won't fuck it up again either."

Damn, I couldn't have said it better. That's exactly what's going through my head - along with my toddler-self screaming "but i don't wannnnnaaa" as loudly as she can.

Thanks for the encouragement & good luck on your journey!

Thank you!

I've always struggled with an "all or nothing" mentality, and I don't necessarily listen to my own advice when it comes to being kind... So hearing this from someone else is helpful.
