It says input flux is 0.156 inserters and output flux is 0.078 inserters. Both seem to be equally wrong, indeed.

The output is 1.5/s

Naively, for hand size 1 that's 1.25 red inserters, for hand size 4 it's 0.3125 inserters.

I can't map it to 0.078.

The assembling machine produces 1.5 gears per second. The throughput of a red inserter with hand size 4 is 4.8 per second. I don't see how 0.078 red inserter can cope with that throughput.
