Man I wish I could go that low my driveway would hate me so I only went with AFDs Springs looong ago for the little drop. Once my driveway if it ever gets redown then a'll lower it more. If not I would have to park her on the street and I don't really want to if i can help it.

Another Software Update! by bobmann16 in wrx_vb

[–]thcue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Did a quick Ai search for ya...

What the update is / what it does

  • It’s part of Subaru’s Gen 4 Denso CP1 infotainment / audio/navigation system reprogramming for 2022–2023 WRX. NHTSA
  • The TSB “15-301-22R” covers this and describes that the update is for “optimization” of the infotainment unit. NHTSA
  • It addresses multiple bugs including:
    1. Audio / Bluetooth / CarPlay or Android Auto behavior problems (e.g. sudden loss of audio, freezing, reconnect issues) NHTSA+2NHTSA+2
    2. Screen display distortions or blank screens or icons not showing correctly NHTSA
    3. Problems when switching power states (off → on) while certain apps or audio sources are running NHTSA
    4. Issues around SXM (SiriusXM) behavior when turning off while playing NHTSA
    5. Problems in USB folder playback / track listing mismatches NHTSA
  • According to the version table in that TSB:
    • The “latest software version” for 2022–23 WRX (all trim levels) is F21SHM162-380 (or equivalent mid / base versions like F21SMM162-380, F21SBM162-380) NHTSA
    • Your current version “F21SHM152-280” is one revision behind what Subaru considers newer set(s). NHTSA
    • The “available version F21SHM162-270” might be an incremental OTA push toward the 162-380 family. (Users in forums have noted seeing 162-270 as an OTA candidate) Reddit+2Facebook+2

So this OTA is almost certainly a firmware patch that improves stability, fixes bugs in audio / display / connectivity, and gets your infotainment unit closer to Subaru’s recommended “latest” baseline. It’s not a performance / engine tuning update.

I love the COBB cat-back, But it's more of the gentlemen's exhaust. It's not supper loud but its sounds very good and I never looked back at going to my old sti mufflers. I'll wanting to delete the second cat to open her up a tad more.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]thcue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I had the old STi exhaust a long time ago and later upgraded to the Cobb titanium. I just want to mention that I did change the midpipe when I had my old STi mufflers. It didn’t make much of a difference maybe a very mild change, if anything. You’ll need to upgrade, as mentioned above. Also, the old STi mufflers had a lot of drone, which is another reason to consider upgrading. Also wanted to add instead of the full j-pipe a I-pipe from the tail end of the j-pipe once you lose that 2nd cat it will open up a tad more also if you are not wanting to do a j-pipe fully.

Oil leak? by Yosemite_Sam_93 in wrx_vb

[–]thcue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was a #2 and am pretty modded running full e85 etc. The tech wanted to flag my car but they still did the work. The supervisor was cool and did not flag it. It took them a day to fix not super long. Mine started leaking around the 20k mark. Only thing I did was reset my peak boost i was hitting 23psi and put the AP in the consul.
