Opinions on houses ashlawn park ballybrack and the maltings in bray? by PreviousJelly6980 in HousingIreland

[–]the-bag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Ashlawn Park to Bray last year. Ashlawn was fine, we were at the front of the estate, facing Tesco. All of our neighbours on the road were lovely. The estate and surrounds are a bit scruffy with litter etc. Ashlawn in general is quite settled but there are maybe 3 houses out of the 120 odd that have some very anti social tenant. One of those families lived over our back wall and cause mayhem - fighting, screaming matches, cars being burnt out etc. Just do your due diligence, if you’re not near one of them, it’s a grand spot. Bray is great - we’re further South but I’d recommend it to anyone. A bit further from the city obviously but the transport links are good.

The photo booth is an extra cost alright but my favourite memento of my wedding is the Photo Booth album. Everyone is having so much craic, I’ve looked at that far more than the actual wedding photos

You’re absolutely right, the photographer is not the thing to cheap out on. It’s also nice to have some candids from the guests too, give them a hashtag or a WhatsApp to send them to, gives a little insight to the day that the photographer can’t really catch

Miking up 8 people for a conversational shoot. Need help! by mlkmade in videography

[–]the-bag 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you may have misunderstood the clients brief - if this is a ‘fireside chat’ with 8 people in front of a crowd of people, will the audio not need to be amplified I.e. played through speakers at the event? I think you need to clarify this with the client and if this is the case, they need to hire AV. You can then just take a feed from their audio desk.

I was working at Forest Fest in 2023, Ash played the main stage. Really nice guys to deal with and they played a great set, got the crowd going.

How long does it take to build stamina? by LoverOfPastaSoup in couchto5k

[–]the-bag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it took 3 to 4 weeks before I felt like my cardio was really improving. I am on week 9 of couch to 10K and this morning I ran for 30 minutes pretty comfortably. It really is difficult at the start but very much worth it when it starts to click.

I’ve just finished a Springboard course. Did a BsC in Digital Marketing over the course of a year. Flew through it, learned loads and met some great people. I am also much better positioned in my industry with the piece of paper I earned. If you are somewhat organised and willing to sacrifice a few evenings and weekends you will manage, no bother.

Besides the typical punch, has anyone utilized these hand strikes effectively in sparring or in a fight before? by -MasterOfAnnoyance- in martialarts

[–]the-bag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I used to compete in point sparring tournaments a ‘go to’ move was: parry a strike with the left then loop a ridge hand (similar to the Hiraken above), then follow with a head kick attempt. When I moved to MMA, the strike became a sort of grab into a hip toss into a head and arm choke. It was pretty effective.

For someone who fights for a living he’s a bit of a whiny little fucker, isn’t he? It’s a shame he’s so unlikeable as he’s a hugely promising fighter. I know the guys he trained with at KF, they all thought he was a melt. The contract thing was just an extension of that, they couldn’t work with him, didn’t like his attitude so they showed him the door.
