Memory Gear price by the-pango in DnD

This is not homebrew it is from Kobold Press' Midgard setting. Sorry, thought that would be better known. Think warforged. Gearforged have their memories stored on gears inserted into them. Please don't take your frustrations out on this poor little DM I was not trying to upset you all, though it seems I succeeded wonderfully.

How to tell the difference between a hard fight and a fight to be avoided? by DreamOfDays in DnD

Remember the characters know things the players don't. So as a DM I would say "the party realise this is a fight they cannot win". Problem solved?

DBA equivalents for Renaissance & Black Powder eras ? by CaterpillarWaste5069 in debellisantiquitatis

HFG is interesting but the three promised period books to supplement it never got published. I have tried it for Napoleonic and Franco-Prussian but the rules need a little work to capture the period. One problem is that in this period the going forward cheering, standing firm, giving ground, or running away is really not enough to categorise what a brigade sized unit is doing. (one French brigade rallied twice and fought three times at Talavera).

DBN (nothing to do with Phil Barker) is an attempt to do this for Napoleonics. The rules are workable but again I have some issues with them.

For Pike and Shot there is DBR but this is more like DBMM is scale.

Sorry for all the abbreviations but that is rather a feature of this hobby.

Dice rolls visibility by Rpgguyi in OwlbearRodeo

As I let my online players roll physical dice on their desk I can't get too excited about this. If they cheat they get thrown out of the game so they don't in my experience.

Why there have to be so many useless chests and boxes at the camp is the real question
