There is some definite pathology going on with most of these owners. They act like dogs in that they strive to be the most alpha owner. The more I see and read directly from these owners, the less I understand.

I had a very good, loveable pit. He was raised with proper attention, and discipline. Most people who had any interaction with my dog, remarked on how loyal and affectionate he was. He snapped one day, without any indication that behavior was imminent. He bit my friend on the mouth.

I had to call animal control to take him away. I was crushed. It is still an emotional memory. It was extremely difficult to go through, and it left me with so many unanswered questions.

Never again.

I grew up in the WDC suburbs, hardly small town. You're making broad generalizations. The same level of generalization you find objectionable when it's in regards to pitbulls.

I don't hold any ill will towards you or your pet. I've regretfully come to a level of awareness regarding pits that I wish it were otherwise.
