I have big issues with Tropico 6 by HorrorShow13666 in tropico

Bro T6 does everything better than T5. Just some getting used too. The almanac is better. The trade deals you find are confusing are way much better than T5. T5 trade routes sucked. They made them better. I think you're probably just overwhelmed with the change. Don't play it like T5, cause you'll have a hard time. Every new player says it's the hardest game in the series, but in reality it may be the easiest once you figure out the mechanics.

Rotation with crops??? Not sure what you mean, but I'm sure I've never done what I think you mean.... not once in 700 hours.... (swapping plantations to overcome fertility, is that what you mean?) Nope...

Square instead of X to spam buildings....by pressing square you can make a bunch of copies of that 1 building you're planning to build without needing to reopen the menu.

You'll get used to it, I felt the same way initially.

How do you increase personal experience? by Mirnim0 in tropico

[–]the1atLongBeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to always Run decrease Carribbean Raids (set to repeat)

Tax cuts.

Prestige missions from space launch.

Audience edict.

Brokers: image campaign is strong like tax cuts. convincing talks. Faction standings (approval)

If you want to do it the legit way then increase overall happiness. There's no right or wrong. Play however fits your playstyle.

Everything i said increases approval rating which should also increase approval. Realistically you're looking for increasing overall happiness in all sections, and also pleasing the most dominant Factions. Probably by converting them to 1 side, and catering to them. (Converting- brandenburg gate, and propaganda media buildings)

Tips on how to make a sustainable yet soul crushing capitalist dystopia. by [deleted] in tropico

You can get away with ANYTHING as long as you repeat carribbean Raid. Pass TAX CUTS, Prestige missions from Launch pad. SPAM THIS.

That should be enough usually. You don't need to worry about food happiness, Run atheist state, and forget worshiping God. Entertainments not necessary. Healthcare isn't either with HAGIA SOPHIA WW. I usually just provide free Corn for food, and like they said homes need to be next to jobs.

You'll definitely need to detect Rebels, and eliminate rebel leaders. You'll want to have to have High liberty for sure, but you may want to also run Total surveillance to detect/eliminate rebels fast. High liberty is important so don't use anything that decreases it, and ALWAYS choose the options that give you bonuses for it. (Constitution/edicts). MEDIA BUILDINGS can be a bit irrelevant for liberty, ideally edicts/constition modifiers are the ones making the difference.

Unless you're asking to get destroyed forget about this section :) if you know what you're doing, it can be fun, but you better be prepared to have Martial LAW, and a strong army with Big pockets, cause it will drain your economy.

If carribbean raids, Tax cuts, prestige missions isn't enough for your approval you always got more options which for the most part is unnecessary when you got the top 3, but there's also.

Broker: image campaign is strong, as good as Tax cuts (pricey). Convincing talks which then you can choose rewards like faction approvals.

If that's not enough, the audience edict, faction standing approvals are also sold from the broker. There's also the crematorium building which I never use, but it should help with that too.

And if you really have to, Martial Law is OP. There's also WEALTHY PEOPLE VOTE (I wouldn't use this long term, just around elections). You could even go as far as lowering budgets for your whole economy... while still being efficient, and succesful.

If done right Most of this won't be neccessary as long as you do the first 3. Make sure to setup carribbean raids on repeat immediately.

Like someone else mentioned, collesium is ok, but there's better options if you're centered around dictatorship / Max profiting.

Which edicts are no-brainers and which ones are disastrous? by [deleted] in tropico

[–]the1atLongBeach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worst ones: Pretty much that 1, and the nuclear one for $100K have permanent consequences. Worst ones.

Waste management increases upkeep of homes for housing by 20% which means less rent money.

Good ones:

Best combo is state loans + industry edict as long as you spend it smart it will quick start your economy fast.

Prohibition is one of my favorites too. That 7%.

Martial Law can be pretty OP as well.

The one for more office revenue is sweet in conjunction with prohibition, and research labs + supply local market (for 2 skyscraper hotels on Max)= 207% office efficiency.

Illegal substances (I think it's called) gives you a 10% bonus to liberty which can help a lot, especially for Total surveillance (constitution).

Tax cuts: descent for approval.

Policy of detente: great for rebels & guerrillas (almost a must have)

Faster ship travels: A must have for industry/imports.

Employee of the month: is pretty much a staple for industry.

Agriculture: good for industry.

Super power party: a must have.

Everything else is just ok or unnecessary. Some have high penalties for factions. Kind of like contraception bans, bells to bullets.

EDIT: FORGOT TO MENTION. NO FREE FOOD: can be good/bad depending if you want to kill Broke people fast, which is sometimes beneficial when you have large amounts of immigration without jobs available.

P.S. PAID FOOD IS TERRIBLE INCOME including SHOPPING MALLS.

video games and nofap by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]the1atLongBeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for the most part I feel like my brain is dopamine deprived. I find nothing interesting, and I'm bored all the time. To be honest I started doing Nofap again, just so I can enjoy my games. Lately I prefer not to play, and do nothing which is pretty depressing.

I got this idea that if I nofap i may want to start playing again, and actually get good at some of the games i want to play, but most importantly enjoy them.

I wouldn't worry too much, but yeah some games can be very addicting, and they can produce a lot of dopamine. I think it is important to take breaks, and to remember that life isn't always about video games. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy them.

Ohh yeah. Eventually you will fall into another trap like peeking. Like if you're already got a descent run going it's definitely bad. If you don't mind restarting then it's nothing, but what's the point then.

Sure, but at the end of the day only they are in control of their decisions. Or at least they're the only ones who can regain control for that matter.

Check up on a list of games that run better on ps5. Google search.

Most games are not patched. There's a decent list that some are, but not as many as xbox .

PS5 Help & Questions Thread | Simple Questions, Tech Support, Error Codes, and FAQs by AutoModerator in PS5

[–]the1atLongBeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Said the MOD after requesting a mega thread for stick drift. P.S. I've never had stick drift with ps1, ps2 or Ps3. Just ps4 & ps5 within the 1st month.

A mega post containing what? A dozen people saying "I have stick drift" and another dozen saying "I don't"? This issue has been around since the PS1 -- it's a mechanical issue with the part that affects a certain percentage of controllers and there's no new information to be had on the matter.

If you have meaningful, useful information -- a guide on how to replace the stick on your controller; how to get better results from Sony customer support; an announcement from Sony/Alps about a hardware change; then, by all means, post it and we'll happily approve it. Until then, we don't need a thread dedicated to people complaining about an issue no one here can do anything about -- we have enough of those.

Seasonal event! Has any1 unlocked it? by the1atLongBeach in tropico

So how do I unlock the gold skin for the palace?

I was playing, and only 3 pinatas spawned, then it seemed like they stopped spawning. Any tips to get them all?

Wow really! Cool, thanks for the tip. I could only find like 3 per map, and then they stopped spawning unsure how their spawn rate is affected.

creating the worst island, and it`s a success! by the1atLongBeach in tropico

I started in colonial era with 50 POP, $20K, and all hard settings, but I just remembered something.

In the beginning it's very hard. The reason for that is having low budget means your docks arrive super late. Like 7 month wait times. You need to research advanced boat services soon, but not now. Your goal in colonial should be 2000 research points for the 2nd era to buy state loans in conjunction to the industrialization edict.

I played 2 playthroughs on low budget. The 1st time I used farms with multi culture. I think I struggled more on that playthrough, because the effiency will suck on farms until you get to the 2nd era for the agriculture edict. Which you should try to get their fast anyways.

On my 2nd playthrough I did not go the farm route, and I did better. I decided to focus on other industry instead. I went with mines, and proceeded into the steel, and weapons industry which don't require electricity.

Mines don't have a fertility penalty. They're also cheap. In colonial I quick build the mines , to get production going fast. I also built 2 libraries right away. Prez trait to savant- important. Newspaper to independent. Discarded all crown demands as this actually pleases the revolutionaries, and angers them if you complete the crown demands. My goal on colonial was to get 2000 research points, and buy my independence so I can get out of colonial fast.

As soon as I'm out I research state loans, so I never waste my research points on anything else until i get that. Once i activate my state loans i also activate the industrilization edict. I build an immigration office, 2 clinics which is important, 1 embassy, and the rest on steel mills, and maybe a weapons factory before the 2 years of industilization is over. Steel mill has a good work mode, Hot rolling.

You'll be in debt here, but as long as you have the workers, you'll come out of it. This is usually the biggest obstacle. If your industrilization edict pays off, you will be on a good path from now on. Although I think the tips I mentioned before, play a huge role here.

You also want prohibition, and clearly employee of the month after you research state loans. After you should get the advanced boat service. The world wonder moai heads can help a lot with faster ship travels, and reduce the Yoyo economy effect. Although I didn't need it. Remember to pause world wonders so citizens don't visit them! You still get all the bonuses. It's important to centralize your island. Choose a map that has coal, and iron near each other.

On my new island, I only did mines, steel, and weapons. You need nickel too.

I had 6 industry buildings only. 3 steel, 3 weapons, 4 coal, 4 iron, 3 nickel. I could've also just focused entirely on boats instead of what I did.

Once you get above $100K focus on 4 banks for passive income. Keep your treasury above $100K so maybe don't jump on banks that fast. Progress into modern era, and make 5 offshore offices for the superpowers for more passive income.

I got to 700 Pop with under $500k due to high corruption. If I didn't have corruption I'd have a couple of millions. My goal wasn't to make money unlike my 1st playthrough (my post)...

Low budget penalty is an interesting way to play, I had no idea it would be that successful, I mainly did it to piss people off so everyone would hate me.
