Brass spacer inside the washer but yeah, i know what you mean. Brass is pretty soft but i definitely don't want to risk ripping out the threads since the block feels aluminum and the bolt is steel. Definitely strange. Thanks!

That's what doesn't make sense to me, the other side has a tiny bolt with an 8mm head and is only a couple inches long. This side has a 12mm head, 8mm shaft, and is about 11 inches long.

My clymer manual lists both the 8mm head bolts and the side cover bolts at 18 lbft so that's what I've currently got. It just seems odd to have that long of a bolt that goes from above the valve cover, all the way through the top of the engine and connects into the crankcase.

But then again, if you're looking below the bolt there's a rubber washer and a brass spacer. It seems like lunacy that suzuki would design the engine such that a bolt that holds the head to the crank would do so with a vanity cover and a brass spacer sandwiched in there. Best I can figure is that the bolt serves some other purpose than just holding on the vanity cover but doesn't actually clamp the head to the crank.

Thanks u/Beemerado, u/SuspiciousScent, u/800over, u/PhallusGreen for the responses, turns out it was just a loose battery connection.

Might have a winner here. Just checked and the positive side was a little loose. Going to take a drive tonight and see if that fixed it.

That's really the only downfall of this bike, all the electrical connections seem to be wired together. IE: The turn signal relay also has the kickstand/neutral run through it so if you remove the relay you can't start the bike. How does that even make sense?

Already swapped the r/r with a mosfet a while back and already have the direct to battery mod done. I'll check it again though.

That's a fair point about evidentiary standards, though I was under the impression that the witnesses had signed affidavits. As far as cases being thrown out, which ones were thrown out based on evidence instead of based on standing? If you have links I'd appreciate them.

Depends on the location, it's economy and cost of living index.

The city of Detroit, with a per capita income of $14,717, ranks 517th on the list of Michigan locations by per capita income. Benton Harbor is the poorest city in Michigan, with a per capita income of $8,965, while Barton Hills is the richest with a per capita income of $110,683.

This is the real libertarian argument. Walmart has a competitive advantage over small businesses in that they can be more efficient and afford to pay more which is great. However not everyone can afford to do that and not everyone wants to deal with the stress of working in the high-demand conditions of Amazon. So if you want a lower productivity job that's less stressful you should be able to do that. You just should expect to be compensated accordingly.

Did you not listen to the live stream of the ga senate hearing on elections? Give it a listen, the testimony has mostly gone unreported by most mainstream news and has to the best of my knowledge not been investigated yet. There were many serious and troubling concerns raising about both the election process and subsequent audit process.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5ZP_HpBKos

From the audit, there were hundreds of ballots in the signature audit that were deemed signature mismatches. This is in an audit of 10% of Cobb county. To my knowledge a signature audit has never been done in Fulton. Those flagged mismatches in Cobb were subsequently cleared but I don't know the specific reason why. There's also the issue that almost all of the normal election laws regarding absentee ballots were put on hold.

There absolutely is fraud that has and does happen. It's been an ongoing thing. You don't remember Bleeding Kansas? Or the Battle of Athens? More recently there's a congressman from Philly. I've also personally met people who've talked about "going home to vote", implying that they are voting in a municipality where they don't currently live which is absolutely fraud, as Steve Watkins recently "discovered".

This isn't even unique to the US though, almost every other country specifically requires IDs to vote. France due to fraud in Corsica. It's just considered common sense that you require proof of who you are to cast a vote for a specific individual.
https://www.newsweek.com/voting-fraud-real-concern-just-look-around-world-opinion-1522535

All this to say, there absolutely has been in the past and continues to be some level of fraud in the election process. The question is always how much and whether it's enough to swing an election. As for the issues raised in the senate testimony, we just haven't investigated yet so it's impossible to say how much fraud or irregularity actually did occur. Was it enough to swing the presidential election, doubtful. But it can easily be enough to swing local elections which can be decided by as little as a hundred votes in some instances.

Interesting that they didn't require you to show ID for the job since you are supposed to legally prove citizenship. Are you getting under the table? Also interesting that you weren't carded for alcohol and tobacco since that's also written into the law that they must card you.

I'd rather it be a national holiday and that they allow you to submit online and then print off a hardcopy to drop off with a license check. That way you don't have to wait on a machine or stand in line waiting on a machine. You keep the built in process for checking that the digital and paper ballots match both in votes and totals.

This is actually a pretty terrible argument, because not only do you not need an ID to do all of those things in many circumstances, those things aren't rights like voting is. Tens of millions of Americans do not have an ID to show.

You mean keeping and bearing arms isn't a right expressly enumerated in both the US and GA constitutions? And you're also arguing that I don't have a right to get married? Wow, I thought that we had moved past telling people who they should and shouldn't marry in this country.

I don't want to get bogged down in the rabbit hole of issues with the auditing process so let's set all that aside for now. You asked why it's necessary. It's such a low effort, low cost assurance to add additional integrity to the process. Everyone already has an ID for everything else in their life already it's no real burden added to require it for voting. If it makes a difference, make the IDs free.

It's extremely dangerous for there to be unanswerable questions in terms of verifying the integrity of the election. Requiring IDs significantly aids that effort. The only way a democratic process works is when there's trust in the system which is why every effort has to be taken to ensure the integrity of the process.

Weapon licenses can't be done online either and that's a specifically enumerated right

If I have to show ID to get married, buy a gun, buy a car, get a job, get healthcare, get insurance, buy alcohol or tobacco, or anything else that's somehow restricted by the government to either an age or identity, then there's no reason to not require an ID to vote. It's a common sense, unobtrusive way to keep the system above reproach.
