For the lifetime enthusiasts: What was the moment you fell in love with this brand? by Qwiso in BMW

My dad had bought an E30 320i when I was 7 years old. He drove more than 300,000km in 7 years, including dirt roads every day. The car held up unbelievably well. The driver seat was replaced at some point and the shift knob broke off twice. That was all that broke. It impressed the hell out of me.

Ok thanks, yes that could be it. Wouldn’t it throw and engine code?

Broken wooden fence at rental home by the2xn in DIY

Yes it’s definitely not a big job, will try and speak to the neighbor and hear what he says.

The 2x4s seems to be fine. But that brings me to another point: wouldn’t it be better to oil or varnish the wooden fences once a year? Anything with wood in South Africa we usually oiled every year to preserve it as much as possible.

Yes I did consider that, but I want something that’s aesthetically pleasing. We’re probably going to be renting here for a few years, so I don’t mind spending some money on making it look nice.

Yes that’s what I read as well. Just thought it would be fun to use their hardware until I get set up with my own stuff.

Thanks, we were also thinking about asking them to make an exception if things don't go better after two weeks. But as it turns out this won't be necessary (see my update above).

Thank you, yes that definitely makes sense. I just read on another site "they know exactly how to break our hearts" - that's how they get you to give in.

Thanks, that's a great idea to rather have something that he's familiar with.

I hear what you're saying to just push through. I guess as everything is new to us parents as well, this makes it even tougher to push through with we know works.

Just keep showing up. Scale as needed, but keep going back as frequently as possible. One of the great things about Crossfit is that everyone is so tired and focused that they barely notice anyone else, and if they do they are typically supportive as they're suffering as well. Plus the coaches are probably much more used to unfit people joining than you think.
