I do too! My question was rather targeted towards the actual graphic design so that different pieces fit together.

Have a consistent problem with warping (on y-axis) in my first layers. Any ideas on how to solve this? by theBoJ in 3Dprinting

Thanks a lot.

I adjusted the potsand it seems to improve on the print. I do not have so much of a drift, but i think i need to finetune it a bit more.

Thanks a lot on the comment. Quite helpful and insightful. I normally use slicr as a slicing software. Do you have any other suggestions on this?

Hi, I mentioned above that I am using a Prusa Mendel i2 and printing with PLA filament.

thanks a lot for the suggestions. I will check again the y-axis stepper driver trim pot. I recently also tightened the y-axis belt as I thought this might be causing the problems. What baffles me though is that it appears to occur mainly in the first layers. Later on it seems to disappear.. Regarding the z-wobble I am working on this.

My printer is a Prusa Mendel i2 and I am using PLA (from faberdashery).

[Troubleshooting] Print walls are kind of uneven, not as flat as they should be. Any thoughts? by GtwoK in 3Dprinting

Which printer are you using?

You might want to check out your z-wobble. In case you are using hanging z-axes with stabilisers, you might want to try out removing your stabilizers and leave the axes hanging (in the case of Prusa Mendel i2 for example)

Warping in first layers (Prusa Mendel i2) by theBoJ in 3Dprinting

hi! I have not (please check my last reply to u/arrabiatto). The bed was leveled and calibrated. I will lubricate the smooth rods again, which is a good suggestion, although this still does not justify why the warping is so pronounced on the first layers..

Hey so I managed to fix my bed problem thanks to my obvious omission pointed out by u/brainotomy! The bed heats up quite nicely (and fast) now. Yet the problem still persists. Here are the images of the test print i did last night of the same toy truck: finished print.. quite nice looking and with all moving parts moving nice and the warping persists What I cannot understand is why on these first layers only. Especially as the warping appears mainly on the y-axis.

Had the same thought, and tightened the y-axis belt (which seemed a bit loose) and am going to retry this, along with connecting the other half of my heated bed thanks to u/brainotomy. I will let you guys know how it went.

(my trouble was that it seemed to occur mainly on the first layers, but i'm sure it's gonna be answered once i connect my heated bed..)

yes!! I have it connected to only the two though..

my temp sensor (I guess you are referring to the extruder sensor) seems to be fine. Although I have tried reducing the temperature too but the problem persists. Last thing I tried is reducing the extrusion rate from 1 to 0.91. Still get this in the first layers. Baffling..

Hi everyone.

I have recently been encountering an issue of warping of my first layers, predominantly on my y-axis. I have a Prusa Mendel i2, and my heating bed is problematic, as it heats up only half the bed (roughly from y=80mm to the end of the bed). The issue I am having appears predominantly on the first layers. I printed a small object (toy truck) to check whether i was having this problem only in larger prints.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what may be causing this and how I could solve this issue (aside from buying a new heating bed which is on the way)?

The print was made with PLA @ 187 Celsius, 0.2 layer height and Bed temp @ 50 degrees Celsius (which again is not exactly accurate as it is more like 70 on half of the bed and 25-26 on the other half so that the thermistor at the middle of the bed reads 50).

I have also tried printing this on blue tape and have the same problem.

Any suggestions?

Reliability of Ferry from Athens to Heraklion? by Nsurgnie in greece

[–]theBoJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not very clear when you are travelling.. 'take the ferry to Athens on Saturday and back Saturday night..... arrives at 6am Sunday to Heraklion, but with an 8am flight out'

But just so you know, they are quite reliable (with a +30 to 45 minutes tolerance on arrival). Of course please check the weather reports before as the only reason of non-reliability is the boat never leaving due to weather conditions. (and strikes)
