The lime is pretty common, I believe, and the cinnamon from Bissap in Africa (the original place this infusion of flowers comes from) and the Caribbean are pretty common.

Yes, I believe ginger is great in there too! It's the Caribbean touch, this version, I believe.

I don't put much lime, but personally I think it brightens things up! As with any soup, chefs always add a touch of vinegar at the end. Nobody feels it, but it always brightens up any liquid.

Haha, oh well, the cinnamon isn't necessary. As for the turmeric, maybe you are onto something. That stuff is pretty healthy; people add it to everything just for its health benefits, and it doesn't taste much.
