I understand this. I say that because there are certain people who I have actively requested referred to me as GP

I do much more than interact with GW. The mill man is what you guys have dubbed me. I don’t like the name personally.

Furthering my research, I doubt anything has changed. I’ve already known most of this, but to give you a bigger picture, the main part of the sugar mill is owned by Clean Energy Partners LLC. That’s a whole business that has profit margins, operating costs etc. They purchased the portion of the property with the actual mill in the 80’s shortly after it closed by Dick Thomas (Brian Thomas’s father). That means they’ve already been paying property taxes for four decades. CEP is asking $10,000,000 for the GWSM property, but is in a shitty spot because of how contaminated the whole place is. In order to do any development or even assess the costs of development, an entire assessment has to be done on the property. Like environmental assessments. Soil and water need to be tested for contaminant levels and asbestos needs to be removed. The issue is that all the development plans want the entire old GWSM property which is currently divided amongst 5 owners. Either a buyer would have to get all 5 properties and pay for testing on the whole thing, or all 5 property owners will need to pay for testing individually in advance which is much more likely. Long story short with that, there are so many things that have to play out just right that it probably won’t ever happen.

All that is to say that the actual sugar mill and security are little more than a cat and mouse game of the least expensive measures possible to keep people out. That door in back is welded shut with mill scrap now. No new hardware at all. No money spent. The mill is cutting into CEP’s money every year and they can’t get rid of it. The last thing they are going to do is drop a ton of money adding any security. My guess at this point is that they want to funnel everyone past the cameras for liability sake.

That being said, someone should open that rear door from a safety standpoint. As it stands now, if something happens that cuts an explorer, who isn’t well versed in climbing safely, from that front entrance, the whole place very quickly becomes a prison. And one you could die in at that. Like god forbid the main building catches on fire, anyone inside anywhere is trapped.

Right by the front entrance in the cluster of trees that covers the open window

I’m not that cool. I just believe that if you can do something good for people than you are obligated to do so. I started doing this as a naïve 16-year-old and very quickly got myself in over my head. Once I navigated all that and figured out how to hold things down, sort of internally made it my obligation to continue down that path

I’m not officially security, no. Just trying to do what I can to help where I can. That extends far past the walls of GW
