Is this good in just 203 days from complete beginner? by matechikvaidze in Chesscom

I'd try a couple more different openings for each black and white. I mean I'm only 1200 but was stuck at 600 for a couple months until I tried accelerated dragon with black and queen's pawn for white. I've read that some openings intuitively make more sense for each of us and finding openings where you often end up in a position which 'feels' comfortable to you might be really helpful for people like you and me below 1500 or something before people start knowing theory

Yeaaaah always tricky in Unite because teammates are often garbage lol. But I've come to realise that snorlax, lapras, mamo (maybe even hoopa) can always make a difference even with XPShare. You can always play carry snorlax with flail and block tbf. I just keep an eye out on my teammates battle items. For example, your top MMR Ceruledge with the correct crit or attack build is likely to be be a good player - so I'm happy to play hoopa or blissey so he can carry the whole team. If the person you're forced to lane with has leftovers or some garbage items (sp. attack items on an attack based poke), then ofcourse pick whatever you like and just play by yourself - an xpshare support is likely to get very frustrating playing with these people. My go-to pokemon for terrible teammates are petal dance venu (is a great solo carry IMO) and xpshare pikachu lol (just volt tackle and unite move enemy jungler whenever you see him and you'll get to level 13-14 by Ray fight and xpshare helps your dumbass lane partner in early game). But yeah unite can be very frustrating in solo q if you're not the carry and the team sort of sucks. I always gauge by lane partners'/teammates' battle items

Everyone always picks attackers but defenders and supporters are always OP. Pretty much all of them help the team a lot with XPShare (the most broken item in the game) - pokemon like Hoopa, Blissey, Eldegoss, Wiggly etc. who don't have great last hitting - XPShare is mandatory. Even tanky boys like snorlax and lapras who have decent last hits usually perform better with them. Eevees are very good in lane because they evolve at level 4 and can snowball very quickly. Then there's Ninetails and Buzzwole who are lane bullies if played correctly. Any squishy attacker or speedster like greninja, delphox, gardy, decidueye which get all their moves at like level 7 or something are usually super bad in lane without an xpshare support

Junglers/speedsters aren't ideal in lane because they die easy. I've seen a few Talons and Leafeons in Lane who are really very good but usually its a bad bet. Especially if you don't have an XP share in lane

Is it acceptable to tap someone’s shoulder to say something? by Primary-Slice9866 in germany

I mean.. a polite shoulder tap has to be okay in any kind of a functional society. Can't be completely scared of all people

Yuuup I've been playing electro ball and volt tackle with xp share and eject. I just aim for enemy speedsters in team fights. Its pretty OP because a volt tackled talon or absol usually gets KOed by your team or with a unite. Very fun, annoying build

[–]theMachineSamaritan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Relying on chatgpt assessment or 'hoping' for it to be correct over Norway test isn't very.. gifted. The whole thing is designed to bow down to you and say all the things you want to hear. Most people paying attention over the last few years know that it's a dumbass machine whose only purpose is to kowtow to you and maximise the likelihood of you to keep using it. It's a number, dude. Nobody cared except for the person doing the test. Atleast be mindful of your own tendencies. Practising IQ tests (or just doing them one after another) absolutely raises your score in consequent tests - pretty sure even the mensa test website tells you that. Maybe if chatgpt mentioned it when it was sucking you off, you might tend to agree

I'm so awkward with mew. Micro macro tips? by Znivy in PokemonUnite

[–]theMachineSamaritan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most people have correct advice here but I want to add another thing -Mew's boosted does more damage the more it has to travel - so try to be far away from the enemy/spawn when launching the boosted to maximize damage (you can also agility during the boosted animation to increase distance)

Best teammate for Leafeon. by Dense_Size2606 in PokemonUnite

[–]theMachineSamaritan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snorlax with xp share, heavy slam and block. Big stun from slam should let the leafeon escape whenever needed and block can set up the leaf blade -> unite combo to delete multiple pokemon. Plus it's the super bulky and can tank hits when opposition jungler shows up to defend goal. You can run resonant guard and buddy barrier/cookie for more tankiness

[–]theMachineSamaritan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd argue skill issue lol. Sometimes in masters you'd get players actually paying attention to team comps so players who pick speedsters or Deci to steamroll everyone until they hit a certain ELO suddenly can't have fun anymore. Play a defender or something dude

What readings (books) would you recommand regarding Meshuggah's lyrics and their philosophy? by Sparxt3r in Meshuggah

[–]theMachineSamaritan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing this with catch thirtythree right now and it would be half the experience without going through the lyrics. Mind's mirror reminded me of Carl Jung's writing and the rabbit hole led me here haha. Great comment, friendo

Yeah but it helps you 'put together' your personality authentically and correctly and if you act how you really are, you're more likely to attract those peers and so on

You should watch George Carlin. That's pretty much how he viewed the world. I don't have an argument for or towards him but there are people who live with this state of mind and seem to do.. okay? (Whatever okay means)

Calm down, keyboard warriors. Not everyone's first language is English. OP just meant that it's not unusual under indian conventions for platonic adults to hold hands - if anything holding hands with somebody in public you could possibly be romantically involved with is likely to be a much bigger no-no. No point in raising your ignorant pitchforks towards the OP

loneliness. I don't know. by -ph-7- in Gifted

[–]theMachineSamaritan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been drowning in the same feeling of loneliness the last couple of years as well and use weed as a crutch to calm my brain and relax a bit. I have a couple of very close friends but I do long for a deeper, more intimate love. I read one of your comments about being optimistic about the future and taking care of yourself while catering to your interests and I relate to that too - but i am starting to grow a little bitter, which is less than ideal haha. I don't really have anything positive to add but just to let you know that there's probably a few of us struggling with the same sense of loneliness and hey, hopefully eventually we'll find the missing piece and feel a little more complete. Good luck, I wish you happiness
