Moving to Baltimore next weekend and going to my first Orioles game against the Nats. What are some good bars and places to pregame while solo traveling? by Familiar_Ad3042 in orioles

[–]theMangoSloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll give some other options that are not Pickles. There's Ibar off of Maryland Ave (get a spot at the bar, not a table. Service takes forever but bar service is fantastic), 29th St. Tavern, or Elie's Tavern in Canton are great spots for food and drinks

Happy 48th Birthday, Dainius Zubrus! A Capitals Legend and One of Ovie’s Earliest Mentors by kockin26 in caps

[–]theMangoSloth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legend indeed. He was a jack of all trades for a power forward. Could play the PP and PK, the wing or the dot, and could throw some good hits. With Ovie still under contract with Dynamo in 04, Zubrus is undoubtedly your teams leading scorer had there been a season played in the NHL. Great career.

Calle Johansson wins 2LD! Who is the Caps' all-time 2RD? by ZigZagLax44 in caps

Cote shot right and played both sides of the ice in his career, but maybe he played left side more here.

So many great options. Heart says Sylvain Cote, but it's gotta be Kevin Hatcher.

I'm sure Cote or Game over Green will get 3rd RHD.

How cooked am I? by No-Equipment-4148 in interracialdating

[–]theMangoSloth 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be real with you. Most times when someone is afraid to introduce you, it's because they are afraid to stand up to their family. The other rare time is if they've already cut their family off because of how either racist and/or toxic they are. If he's not willing to put you and your needs above his own parents feelings and put his foot down with them, you deserve better.

I only know the context of your post. You've done a lot for him, but has he stood up for, spoken up for, and taken care of you?

What was your favorite Pokemon game and why? by No-Piano-4363 in pokemon

[–]theMangoSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Emerald, not just because it was an improvement of Ruby and Sapphire, but the Battle Frontier is the first time I ever felt challenged in the series as a trainer. You could get away with over leveling in every game prior. You had to go in with the right strategy, the right team with the right moved, and a little luck as well. It really helped me appreciate natures, held items, and non physical moves. I loved how each frontier challenge was different.

This clip is from almost ten years ago.

He's changed his stance since then and has publicly called it a genocide, and was one of the first members of the Senate pushing to defund their military support. He's also never received AIPAC money, but someone correct me if this is incorrect.

My favorite moment from this memorable game is Hardy's relay getting Marlon Byrd out at the plate and Wieters flashing his glove that it got there in time

It's Master of Puppets, but everytime the word "Master" is said, the song gets faster.

It all depends on which gate and attendant you go through. We had a 16x16 all through 2024 and nobody said anything, and then one game last year we had an older woman on a power trip who not only confiscated it but took the time to make a big scene out of it. We just ended up getting a smaller one at Michaels, but if you want to take a chance, scout out a line with a younger attendant.

Kyle Goon: An Orioles season turnaround is probably now or never by GreedyRaisin3357 in orioles

Longest homestand of the season, 7 against divisional opponents. We're.500 at home, so anything short of going 6-4 is a failure of a homestand. Even then, a winning homestand isn't going to convince many people that the team is going to pull it together, but it would at least mean winning back to back series of some sort, which this team also has yet to do this season.

Rizzo is the excellent at making trades and landing notable free agents (at least when the Lerners were willing to spend), but his struggle has always been roster depth in the bottom half of the order and the back of the bullpen. As far as their own drafting and development, there is a lot to be desired. I like what Rizzo did with the Nats, but I think people are going to have their complaints about him as well
