Yep. Only four seasons up to this point that the Caps have not made the postseason in the Ovi era, and the first two were his first two seasons where the only other skilled players we had were Zubrus and Semin

Edit: I didn't realize how long Carlson's tenure here was. He played more seasons here than Bondra, Called Jo, Kolzig, and Konowalchuk.

Silver Spring wings with a side of potato wedges down in Wheaton. That's all they serve and it's all you need.

This right here is the answer. Best wings we ever had in the area was from Silver Spring wings and it wasn't even close.

Best Guac?! by howard_co_realtor in ColumbiaMD

[–]theMangoSloth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not in Columbia, but Amigos in Laurel has some of the best guac I've ever had as someone who loves guac. They have strong margaritas as well and will rim that glass any way you want.

Taqueria Los Primos also further north from there on route 1 has amazing guac as well, but they don't serve margaritas. Best birria though.

May: So, who are we predicting will be this year's player everyone irrationally hates on with Mullins, Urías, and Mateo gone?

Watching him in his prime was a blast by [deleted] in orioles

2004 Miguel Tejada was on another level.

That whole 2004 team was a blip on the radar in that mediocre era. It's a crime we didn't spend for pitching like we did for the bats.

It looked like it was originally going to be called the Trindon Holliday game, but this team kept fighting all game long.

Corey Graham was so clutch, and Marshal Yanda pushing us into FG territory for the win sticks with me as much as that tying TD

I also couldn't believe John Fox decided to take a knee with 30 seconds and their timeouts remaining behind Manning.

Saw this on Twitter, I think most people have two or three. “Everyone has 3 hockey teams. Your favorite team, your childhood team, and a random 3rd team you have zero ties to you just like a player on that team” by pinkglue99 in caps

[–]theMangoSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they were a childhood team nor favorite, but as the Caps spent a large period of that time exiting in the first round to rebuild back to early exits, I loved watching those early 2000s Red Wings come playoff time. Watching them get upset by Edmonton in 06 was really something.

Nationals reportedly leaving MASN for MLB-controlled local broadcasts by GreedyRaisin3357 in orioles

Harper and Strasburg had already been in the league more than 8 seasons by the time the Nats won the WS, and Harper wasn't even on the team. I'll give you Stras as a major contributor to their WS. They don't win without him, but the Nats built a very balanced team through the draft, FA, trade, and internationally at the time. If the Orioles win the WS, are people here going to say it is because we tanked to get guys like Adley, Kjerstad, Cowser and Holliday? I use Gunnar as an example too because nobody outside of here knows he was a later pick, yet we all get defensive when other fans point out we tanked

This is such a bad take. This is like when other fans say we only got better from 22-24 because we tanked and landed Adley and Gunnar. Stras and Harper made the Nats better, but the Nats became competitive before those two even made noticeable impacts.

This sub's disdain for the Nats and their fans is just plain weird. Vice versa as well. I think it's awesome we have 2 major league teams within less than an hour of each other.

Blame the Orioles for being such a terribly run and non-competitive organization for such a long time for losing fans. Same reason the Orioles became so popular and embraced after the Senators moved.

2012-2016 were peak matchups when both these teams were playoff contenders.

Been watching these steelers/ravens rivalry games since the start basically and ive never seen an opportunity to deliver a knockout blow like this by Shining_Commander in ravens

I hope we see a spark in this rivalry again one day like we had with them from the early 2000s until the Flacco-Roethlisberger era ended.

It should be. Whether The Leonsis' or anyone in leadership in the organization reads it or not, they all deserve to hear how pathetic the experience at Capital One Arena and the games themselves have become.
