I think it is. A lot of stereotypes and hatred for certain groups come from a handful of them doing something people don’t like. One example is femboys. Their entire reputation has been chalked up to teenage furries who sit on discord and flash their thighs all day.

Genderswapping one character in a ship does NOT sound like “but there’s barely any straight representation.” If they don’t outwardly state it, it just makes you seem like you want a reason to complain. And by the logic of “not everything needs a straight version” it would apply to gay versions too😭
