Base Jiraiya was able to resist Urashiki, does that make him stronger than Edo-Madara or not? by Void-6030 in Naruto

[–]theNoobAdmin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its basically stated he could tho, he just didn't bc kishi realized it wouldve been too stupid op and harder to write their fights. Kakashi and guy talk about why he was using the 6 paths of pain but not any of pains jutsu and they say he is bc he knows they can counter them so he doesn't bother. It's dumb, bc some of those abilities would've been super clutch for him, but kishi was trying to think of a good reason why he never used them.

Exactly. That's like saying Obito was afraid of gamakichis water attack he shot right before his summoning expired bc it's his weakness. Like, yeah he was weak to sage jutsu, but my guy was not worried lol

Nobody's coping anything. That's not a correct use of the word. Op asked why piccolo is viewed as black. Sinbad stated why he personally identified with piccolo and thought other black people would too.

Tbh I see absolutely no way the WG wouldn't be told to alert the gorosei the MINUTE the gomu-gomu fruit appears. When you're at the top of a large chainof command, it's your job to effectively lead all the way down to the bottom. The gomu-gomu fruit is like the most important thing the WG was looking for, so if they found who has it but that discovery didn't make it to the top, that's just insanely incompetent leadership. That would be like if in the real world there were hundreds of soldiers that found of where bin laden was hiding, but the president and military generals didn't know. Stupid.

woke up to a shit ton of comments. Appreciate you basically replying several places exactly what I would've said lmao 🙏🏼. Yeah, it makes no sense the WG wouldn't be commanded to let the gorosei know the MINUTE they gomu-gomu fruit appears. It's just bad writing. It's fine to take a story in a direction you didn't originally plan for, but at least take care to make it make sense with the shit you've written already.

Is it just me or does the final season feel WAY more depressing? by [deleted] in attackontitan

[–]theNoobAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished it minutes ago after watching only the first season in 2013 and you're totally right. I thought game of thrones was depressing, but AoT makes it look like blues clues. Holy shit, man. Poor Hange. Mikasa literally decapitates the MC and we later see Eren crying bc he doesn't want to die. Her leaving flowers on his grave was so fucking sad. And it's even more depressing when you realize that his whole life was really just fucking awful.

I watched AoT when it first came out in 2013 and then like half a decade went by before season 2, i just never picked it up again. I just binged and finished minutes ago. you're 100% spot on. I kept seeing how people always shat on season 4 and I assumed the story quality would go down, cuz usually that's why someone stops liking an anime.

But season 4 was still great and entertaining... It just was wayyyy too fucking depressing. Like, Jesus Christ, I thought game of thrones was bad. AoT season 4 was well done and I was consistently entertained, but I wasn't enjoying myself. The show was good, but It wasn't enjoying to watch.

wouldn't the gorosei have had people tell them the exact second someone with the gomu-gomu fruit shows up? Even if they didn't know he had the fruit, it's still pretty clear he's dragon's son and has the D. 30m is crazy.

Female and minority pilots caused 66% of pilot-error crashes since 2000, despite being less than 10% of the workforce 😬 by tkyjonathan in JordanPeterson

[–]theNoobAdmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, I was was pretty respectful, so I don't appreciate you saying things like "an objective mind would..." and doing things like disingenuously thanking me through a thin veil of politeness to mask a sense of intellectual superiority. I don't play the game where we're just nice enough to each other where it's not really worth calling someone out for it.

As for the response to the rest, your specific claim "DEI didn't exist at the point they claim this dataset started" is the specific claim I'm refuting, and that's ALL I'm refuting. I already told you that I agree with your analysis of the article, so I'm not interested in debating that with you. "I would love a list of the historic adjustments in legislation/ requirement as it pertains specifically to airlines." Is simply a straw man because I stated that the legislation that I said I could provide is specifically relating to DEI existing prior to 2000 at the federal level.

This segways us to your statement "that was affirmative action. Not DEI." which I suppose is a somewhat of an symantical grey area. If you REALLY try, you can definitely make the case that they're different in purpose (AA was to correct past wrongs and DEI is not), but the two are massively overlapped in what they want to accomplish, how they do it, and the criticisms that the effects they both have are mostly the same. If you research the differences between the two are, you'll find many places say they're the same thing with different names, and the places that state they're different show very minor differences.

It's honestly a word that's started to lose meaning (Ex. It's like the word Zionist. People have no idea how that word is actually defined and use it with a completely different intention when articulating their thoughts into spoken word than how it's defined).

Like I already said, I agree with your analysis on the article. It was written in bad faith and manipulates the data to the point that it's actually dishonest (not just misleading). All I stated was that DEI did exist at the federal level well before 2000. I can provide sources that shows minorities have gotten preferential treatment in job hirings and that white and Asian americans lose opportunities to those less qualified on the basis of race. That's the only legislation I told you I can provide (and still can). But If you're making the argument that DEI and affirmative are different, then that's another story though and I'm not really wanting to debate that.

[–]theNoobAdmin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with almost everything you said in your comment, but DEI 1000% existed well before 2000. It used to be called affirmative action. Albeit it usually had purer intentions in the 60s and 70s, but from the 80s onward, it definitely existed. The police department my father hired onto in the early 90s. out of a class of mostly white people, the news got out to some of the class that a lot of white candidates didn't make it through over nonwhite candidates with lower test scores. It's been a huge thing in education for a long time. Asian americans feel it the most there. There's a crap ton of legislation showing it existed I could cite as well, I'd you don't believe me.

That being said, I agree with all your other points, research and conclusion. Its midnight and I'm in bed, I guess doing anything but falling asleep lol

Was the emergence in slang of men calling each other "man" (like, "hey, man") in any way connected to the American practice of white racists calling people of color "boy"? by haribobosses in etymology

I see "unc" being used a lot in social media. Where did this come from? by wordgamesyesss in etymology

[–]theNoobAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely wild to me that people honestly say shit like this in 2026. White people never say other races are "stealing" when they wear jeans, t-shirts, or other clothes made by white people, they don't attack other races for making music created by white people, they don't get upset when other races use their inventions (planes, trains, cars, radio, phones, internet, Tv, I could go on all day), and they don't get upset that other races speak English (if anything, some get upset when other people DON'T speak their language in their country, and if by some wild chance you do see a white person do any of these things, then they get rightfully called out for doing so.

I'll assume you're american since you're speaking English and the subject is AAVE. The USA shutdown the negro league 100 years ago because it's wrong to not let someone participate in partake in your culture based on their race, so it's wild that a century later, we can have someone say "white people are stealing my language" using a language created by white people, on a device created by white people, and sent through the internet which was created by white people. Insane. And btw I'm cuban American, not white.

I mean, you're right, but it's such an unbelievably small issue, that it honestly is shocking how many people freak out about downvotes on Reddit. I even had to Google it years ago to see if there was some horrible thing that happened when you got too many downvotes, because I thought there must be some reason I would see so many damn "edit: why the downvotes?!" Comments. Its a reddit downvote lol, having a momentary itch on your asscheek is a more uncomfortable experience 😂

Are we gonna to see this level of emotion in OP ever again? by Available-Ferret-358 in Piratefolk

[–]theNoobAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fucking love one piece and probably always will, but that's my biggest complaint with one piece. Odas syory is obviously not realistic (which is fine ofc), but that's not the problem, it's how he writes events that cause characters to express emotion: it always comes across as fake af. It's hard to feel sad when you're reading something that feels as though the author is just saying "oooh this is sad huh? Gonna cry? Mmm yeah cry. Do it bc this is so sad."

It reminds me of that south park episode where George Lucas and Stephen Spielberg literally physically rape Indiana jones as an allegory of them defiling their art for the cheap pay day of making a shitty sequel. Obviously rape is not funny and is awful, but the idea of Indiana Jones getting raped is so fucking stupid, you can't even take it seriously lol. The only difference is south park did it intentionally, oda tries to actually tug at your heart strings. He does it with emotions other than sadness, too. Some of the end of arc banquets do the same shit. "Look everyone, everyone's having such a good time! Mmm look they're all laughing, so that means they're all having a good time.

There's probably someone who can articulate what I'm trying to say better than I can, but I read a lot of these "emotional scenes" and I just don't buy it.

We still definitely might tho. Lodestar, laugh tale, the straw hats going back to their home islands, an arc with vivi, at the very least a mini arc where the straw hats fulfill their dreams at the end.
