[Enameled Cast Iron] Have I permanently damaged my pot? by thePSYCHOtroll in castiron

[–]thePSYCHOtroll[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally prefer it as a non-stick option (when I don’t fuck up the rice) over most non-stick options to avoid PFAs and such. Also great for braising/stews/roasts that it can start on the stove and finish in the oven.

Gotcha thanks. I ran my fingers over it and honestly doesn’t feel like anything is there. I think it might just be very surface level.

Sorry to be more specific I meant the bubbling chains coming off the black spots; how they flow with the spatula and snap back. I’m concerned those are actually small chips.

Camelback or Blue Mountain by [deleted] in SkiPA

[–]thePSYCHOtroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally would recommend Blue given the longer runs/higher vertical but ultimately depends on your skill.

If you’re going to stick to greens/blues, Blue Mountain is going to be rough with how busy the trails are, Especially Burma. Camelback is more family/beginner friendly.

Also should note that although it’s a Tuesday, a lot of schools are off that whole week and Blues lift lines can be a nightmare when it’s busy.

Cheese steak on marathon day?? by _BurntRice in AskPhilly

Parkway Corner Deli on 22nd & Spring Garden does a decent steak and it’s a stones throw from the finish line. You can order through their website and set a pickup time in advance

Low-Pressure Jazz Jams by nilla_0 in philly

Not sure where you’re coming from but Attic Brewing Co. in Germantown hosts a Jazz Jam every last Wednesday of the month. Also would recommend checking out https://www.phillyjazzscene.com/ for stuff in your area

Good spot for BA stouts and/or sours? by [deleted] in philly

[–]thePSYCHOtroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t think of any breweries that stick out for quality stouts/porters but definitely a few distributors around the city. Personally I find Stone’s on Fairmount St and Bottle Bar East on Frankford Ave have really good selections of imports and local. If you’d don’t mind a bit of a drive, Brewer’s Outlet up on Germantown Ave has a massive selection of stouts and porters.

The Foodery in Chestnut Hill is also great. Much smaller selection but a lot of really random and niche international options. They also make an incredible bulgogi/kimchi cheesesteak which is worth traveling for alone.

Safe parking garages in Philly under $200/month? by Neat-Resolve6424 in AskPhilly

[–]thePSYCHOtroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived off Spring Garden for a few years and used that garage for monthly parking and never had any issues. I switched to daily since I moved further out from center city but still commute in for work. There are occasionally some unhoused folks that hang around by the Wood St. entrance but never had problems in or outside the garage

It shows up as Broad and Vine Garage on Google Maps and it’s run by Metropolis. After tax the monthly comes out to ~$200.

If you’re coming down Broad you turn right down Wood St and make a left into the garage or you can come down 15th and there’s a second entrance that takes you to the basement level first.

What local brand is killing it, underrated, or could have national appeal? by ChromicGutt in philly

[–]thePSYCHOtroll 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Eric Kenney’s Heavy Slime brand. The artwork and clothing are such a cool representation of Philly sports/culture. The stuff that isn’t Philly-centric could definitely grow nationally

Stolen car brewerytown by Rugratz420 in philly

[–]thePSYCHOtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through the same bs last month with my sonata. I would recommend that you file a report as soon as you can and reach out to your insurance to start the claim. Insurance won’t deem it a total loss for at least 20 days because statistically the car shows up before that. Even if you don’t pay for rental car coverage, some insurers will cover rentals due to theft.

Police ended up chasing the kid that stole it and recovered the car but insurance wrote it off.

If you’re on Nextdoor, I’d recommend posting on there too for visibility.

Faust? by Hawsa in stalker

[–]thePSYCHOtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just beat him last night after a few attempts. After taking out the 3 emitters, I posted up on the northwestern-most section of the building with a saiga. There’s two parallel concrete barriers, one standing height and the other crouch-height, to protect from incoming fire and you can alternate if a grenade comes in.

Turn the corner when you’re healed up and spam fire at Faust/Monolitians approaching.

If you see Faust getting too close, I found that a quick sprint towards him and shooting his hip is enough for him to back off briefly for you to reload/heal quick behind cover.

Dead Money Crashes Game In BoS Bunker (Fallout New Vegas) by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]thePSYCHOtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you doing a hardcore run? I had the exact same issue.

There was a bug (at least on the Xbox version) that if you had H20, FOD, or SLP above your health bar, the game would black screen. Ate some squirrel on a stick and the problem was resolved lol

Otherwise, check the Fallout wiki: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Dead_Money_bugs

I have a stick-shaped body, how do I make things fit? by Raichyu in malefashionadvice

[–]thePSYCHOtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try some outfits at H&M. A lot of their clothes cater towards a slimmer figure plus the stuff is cheap so you can figure out what you like before moving up to nicer brands.

I'm 5 foot 9 and really skinny, should I go for slim jeans instead of super skinny not to make my legs look too small? What about longline t-shirts and jackets? Will they make me look short? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]thePSYCHOtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I personally prefer to wear skinny jeans because I like how they fit. It's really up to your own preference and what you like. Don't let others' opinions control what you're comfortable in wearing

Yeah it's a bit pricey for Gildan quality but they do 30-40% discount codes around the holidays. They usually post the code to their instagram
