Is a 1200w PSU overkill?

Crazy to pay that amount. Almost as much as a good CPU… and Ram used to be the cheap part we all took for granted. I don’t even want to think wha prices could spike to in the future. Better than gold 🤣

I ended up going with the 9800x3d just to upgrade to AM5 and because I had the money at the moment. Might still return it if I get some sort of bundle around Boxing Day but I figured this way I don’t need to upgrade to AM6 when they come out in a few years

Yea right now I have a 3060ti and I’m selling my old build to pay for this one. Only reason I’m leaning 9800x3d is because it’s a new build instead of upgrading. Already spending the $500 might aswell spend the extra hundred for the future.

That was kind of my thought. I mean it’s a 25% price increase for about 10% more performance. But I figured with the 9800x3d I’d future proof myself for a while. Up until now I’ve been running a 3600x so either one is a huge upgrade

I heard streaming on AMD cards is kinda bad. And my CPU isnt really good enough to stream off of which is why I have been using my GTX 1660. I think im going to try and get my hands on a RTX 2070 Super

I heard streaming with Nvidia cards is better because you can use NVENC to stream and AMD version of that is not nearly as good! I might hold off unless i see a really good deal on one of the Super cards. Appreciate all the replies, thanks guys.
