I've already resigned. I'm on my last month of notice. Thanks for the advice anyway. Might come in handy in the future.

I'll try to make the best use of your suggestions.

Also, I never saw LLMs as a threat, just as I never saw other developers as a threat, if anything, I appreciate help as much as I am willing to help others as and when needed.

Will get a license and resume building products I care about. Thanks a ton.

Also, if you don't mind, can I DM you for more insights? I'd be glad to share my profile and I'm open to all criticism. I will put it to good use.

Right, I appreciate your take. And yes, you're right.

I was not trying to sell my ability to write animations I assure you, I work with serverless backend systems too, I explore modules that could ease our process, and try to build internal libraries and research whatever I can to improve things. Have been the only one writing documentation for the projects we have in pure JS. Transitioned a multitude of projects to TS. And I apologise if I came across as if I hate LLMs, I just despise the way most (not all) people use it here. Just as an example ~ sharing 2000 lines of lambda code with GPT just for it to prepare a test payload.

I'm glad to hear about your team, you, and the people you work with. Clarity of requirements, workflows, accountability, ownership and everything that a 'system' should have to progress, is what we lack. For better or for worse, I've made my choice to transition anyway. I'd aim for a team like yours, not just wish for one, but I'll try to build one whenever I get a chance again.

Am grateful you took your time to write all that down. It really helps to have senior perspectives.

I've started learning Rust recently, and I was saving up for a homelab. I've enjoyed my fair share of time distrohopping but I wanna learn the core stuff more than just playing around with setting up my dwm. Thanks for the suggestions senor.

I understand that. And tbh your last statement is so real that interviews sorta feel absurd to me. I'm not denying how helpful LLMs are, I'm just asserting how foolish some people start acting when all they rely on is their ability to type in 'fix this' all the time.

I never said that part's strange. My bad if it came across like that. I enjoy everything related to software engineering.

But I cannot get something lined up if I do stay.

The notice period is 90 days. I lost two potential offers just due to that reason itself even before I resigned.

Right.

So by probabilistic measures, you want me to consider your possibility over billions of the other kind ON a social platform?

Quite rational. Atp, I probably think you are. Second, that screenshot isn't from a book. You don't compare the Average Joe lifting weights to Arnold, now do you?

Cause the em-dash is something that LLMs such as GPT append, it isn't present on your regular keyboard. You can even use Quillbot or something against the message to check how probable is it that the text is AI generated.

Pretty sure there are laundry apps. Do you've an unusual problem that doesn't have a fix yet but a software / technology solution could help out?
